WOW!! WHAT A WEEKEND!! THE SOUTH COAST CERAMICS MARKET WAS A MASSIVE HIT!! A gentle soft opening on saturday evening, chatting to family and friends of the exhibitors, a few unexpected sales and fine tuning my stall set-up finished off with dinner and live music at The Courtyard @ The Co-Op, Gerringong. Sunday was the main day......huge crowds streamed in for the first 3 hours....it was amazing to see their reactions to my work and the other artists close to me. It was also great to chat about my process, stories behind my work and share my enthusiasm for Ceramics. Well done to all who joined in and special thanks as always to Zeynep & Marcus Testoni for their organisation of the whole event. I'm looking forward to doing it all again next year.

I've got a few different projects happening in my studio at the moment...!
Take a look at my fish- making process.......from little sketchbook drawings... to making solid models in clay....then casting a single or two part mould in plaster.....and finally pressing clay into each mould, cleaning up the details, and adding fins and tails!
When these are bisque-fired, next will be decorating / glazing!

My creative journey has taken a hit over the last two months.........in between working full-time as a teacher, I have only managed to continue my throwing practise, trying out new clays and as I am now on school holidays, I've been making some new fish. Some will be whole pieces, some will be used to make plaster press moulds. I'm loving being back on my creative train.....🎨🚂

MORE NEW MUGS!!
It never ceases to amaze me how unpredictable and surprising Ceramic Art can be!!
This latest batch of mugs to come out of the kiln gave me a WOW moment when I saw the results from the glaze firing last week. ROCKPOOLS........is what I saw when I peared inside. The coloured glazes were chosen to express elements of the ocean & the beach, the technique I used to apply the glazes reflect the movement of the water, splashes, tidelines, spray. Then the kiln does it's thing....!!
ANYWAY, if you have fallen into a trance looking at these gorgeous glazes....you can grab one of these at my next market event in just under 2 weeks time. With Mothers' Day coming soon, your'll find me at THE WOOLONGONG MAKERS MARKET, on SATURDAY 9TH MAY @ THE INNOVATION CAMPUS OF UOW. 9AM - 3PM.
I have a feeling these will sell fast and there are only a small number available.
