Thursday night may not have ended with an award, but it certainly ended with a great deal of pride.
This Old House Studio was honoured to be named a finalist in the Excellence in Micro Business category, and our Sales Consultant, Lily, was a finalist in the Outstanding Employee category.
While we didn't come away as winners in these two very hotly contested categories, we couldn't be prouder to have been recognised alongside so many outstanding local businesses and individuals. Congratulations to all of the winners and finalists, especially Beekeeping Workshops | Bee Mentoring | Bee Equipment | Kiama for taking out the 2026 Business of the Year after winning the Micro Business category.
I'm especially proud of Lily. Stepping outside your comfort zone isn't always easy, but she represented herself and This Old House Studio with confidence, professionalism and grace. Being recognised as a finalist is a wonderful achievement and one that is thoroughly deserved.
It was also fantastic to share the evening with the rest of our team, Dave and Kate, celebrating not just the awards, but everything we've achieved together over the past year.
A heartfelt thank you to the Kiama Business Network , the judges, sponsors and everyone involved in organising such a wonderful evening. We also sincerely appreciate the generous feedback from the judges, who told us both entries were exceptional. We couldn't ask for better encouragement as we look ahead to next year and perhaps to throw our hats into the ring in a couple of new categories!
