The grooves and nail holes are yet to be cleaned and the base still to be made, but it’s looking good.

Still quite a bit of work to go, but it’s coming together well.

I’ve cut this horsehead design out with a short mane and have sent it to its owner to see if she would like it like this, or with the long mane like the Friesian.

I’m looking forward to seeing them side by side once it’s finished.

After trying a mouth that didn’t look right, his owner has decided to keep it as it.

So here is the first self standing dog head design I’ve ever made, a Labrador/Retriever. Fully made from used steel horseshoes. 🥰

I think this is Kahlua’s ‘I dare you to try and touch those handles’ look. 👀

Last week Thursday afternoon was the last time I’ve been in the shed working, but it seems like weeks.

I took the full weekend off from work, and Friday and Monday were spent trying to catch up in the different areas of life.

Funnily enough, I don’t feel like I’ve caught up on anything at all. The lists just get longer. 🫣 I don’t think that’s meant to happen is it? 😂

Happy to be back in the shed though. Everything is much simpler in here. 🥰

Following a freak out in the float where my gelding Charlie reared, hit his head, broke a window and fell out the float backwards and subsequently refused to load, Rachel float trained him for me a few years ago. Following her training he would load every time and go straight up.

She did such a brilliant job with him that it was a no brainer to get her out again for our young 4yr old mare Letty. We wanted to get Letty self loading confidently without requiring food treats or us to walk in beside her. In one session with Rachel, Letty is doing exactly that.

We highly recommend Rachel to anyone who is having issues with floating. Having a horse that loads confidently every time you need them to is an absolute game changer!

Adding an eye to a design always brings it ‘to life’, but this is particularly true for dog designs.

Adding the lower jaw/mouth line doesn’t always work, but I’m going to give it a try at least tomorrow.
