There is nothing like Timber!
Over the years of being in business, I have sold many flooring products for all types of purposes however there is nothing like seeing a beautiful hardwood timber floor go down.
There is something about the amazing look, sustainability and durability of solid timber!
We are currently 1/2 way through a beautiful Australian Spotted Gum floor for the Montessori School in Balmain and as we have not put the polish down, I though sharing the look of beautiful Australian timber install raw was worth posting.
We have installed a waterproof 2 pack membrane to the concrete, builders' plastic, underfloor insulation, batons then Spotted Gum Timber.
We still have the polishing to go so further photos will be shared.

Over our 24 years in business, we have conducted many different business activities in many different scenarios. However, we have always found that for quality, fulfilling and fruitful business, personal contact and relationship building has been our best method of meeting new clients.

This may not be the business model for everyone, however, being a small business who enjoys the pleasures of seeing happy clients, it’s a perfect system for those who also want to enjoy personal connection while working. Building relationships, builds trust and gives satisfaction when conducting our day to day business.

I have been a part of BNI for some time and have just joined a forming chapter in Hunters Hill in Sydney.
We currently have around 21 business owners from all around our local area and we meet every week for breakfast to help each other grow our businesses.

𝗦𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿? 🎨

We love producing a perfect blend of colour and texture to highlight a space.

This project is a Yoga Studio in Artarmon, the client requested an earthy feel with a carpet tile that is also soft enough to exercise on.🧍‍♀️

By utilising a base colour and highlight colour, we used both colours to mix a perfect blend of tiles. installed in an ashlar pattern method, similar to timber, and with the added soft backing. This achieved a nice feel under foot, and in this case under body!

Modular floors can be installed in many ways using a blend of colour, in any concentration, depending on your taste.

Above Left has some fantastic styles available like this mix of Upstream EBB River, with around 33% River Emerald.

Luke Jessop Smith, our representative from Above Left is always extremely helpful with giving advice and can even complete full renders to show you what the flooring will look like once fully installed.

This is achieved by taking photos of the space and producing a digital image of the exact floor that is to be installed based on your chosen blend of colours etc.

This is a unique, high-performance, acoustic, and environmentally conscious carpet tile cushion backing – made from 80% post-consumer discarded water bottles, plus 5% post-industrial recycled PET.

We recently installed this amazing looking organic plank and at the same time worked out we also helped the environment by re using 2750 plastic bottles that would otherwise be floating around the ocean damaging the planet. 🌎

𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹...𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁.

When flooring levels are consistent, floors can then be installed without all the squeaks and noises 🔊

We commonly use a floor levelling compound to get the levels correct ✅

A cushion pad, a 2 mm sound barrier pad or underlay is installed as a base and sometimes builders’ plastic is installed to ensure moisture doesn’t get transferred from the sub flooring to the timber causing unwanted damage in the future 💧

The bottom line is, that you can have a beautiful true timber veneer floor at a reasonable cost that is easy to install and it looks amazing 🤩

Our “go to” is either of the premium floors "Ready Flor" or the beautiful 'Dunlop Flooring' Hartridge range .

Engineered flooring installations are a fantastic way to install a timber floor without having to go through such a difficult installation process needed for solid timber floors.

Engineered flooring is manufactured by installing a solid timber veneer on a ply style base. This makes things much cheaper and easier to install.

It may not be a solid timber floor, however, it is a true timber veneer!

The installation process is much easier as all the flooring is pre-made into the one size for all boards with a click together system. Most brands have a 1,2 or 3 strip board and you can choose what you like based on your budget 💸

The less strips in the one size board, the higher the cost 💰

The result once installed is that you will gain a true timber floor at a fraction of the cost! 💰 💸

Solid wood can be sanded back and re:coated with polish. We can also repair the floor with resign, fixing holes or splits in the timber.

This job that we recently finished, had old carpet and the beautiful flooring was all damaged and hidden. We removed all the carpet and underlay, sanded the original timber back to raw timber and re:polished it with a semi-gloss bona floor polish and presto....It’s a beautiful hardwood polished floor 🤩
