I am from Osaka/Kyoto, Japan and moved to Sydney Australia in 2019. Now I live in Launceston, Tasmania and have set up my workspace. I studied "natural kintsugi" and "urushi lacquer art" based on Japanese traditional methods, under masters in Japan. This process is a safe and secure original construction method that does not use chemicals, irritat

ing solvents or any VOCs(volatile organic compounds). Urushi lacquer is an amazing, deep and complicated art form - I am constantly learning new things and working out how to create unique textures, patterns and designs. All Re:ble products are carefully and beautifully hand-crafted by me - 100% natural urushi lacquer with upcycled sugarcane fibre - ultra lightweight and eco-friendly. Not just a cup or plate but something that speaks of craft and artistry from a long tradition of Japanese artisans.

I love this rich red color! The urushi lacquer gives such a beautiful shine and depth.

I apply translucent urushi lacquer over the red urushi to create even more depth and richness.

Natural sugarcane fiber texture with urushi lacquer ✨

These plates show the beautiful sugarcane fiber pattern. I apply many layers of urushi lacquer, then polish to reveal this natural texture design. This technique makes each plate unique and very lightweight!

I love how the natural material pattern appears through the polishing process, making it shiny.
