Hello everybody,
After a couple month a little challenging for Talike & myself... we are both recovering from life's hiccups :-) now trying our best to finish all the desks in time for the new school year mid-September!!!!
We are so excited to accomplish such results, thank you to all of you who made this possible!!!!
Fenoke et Manapototse, who built the school are our wonderful carpenters and going hard at it... Again, not an easy task...
Ankilemiavotse is a remote location and hard to get to, so to save on cost of hiring multiple trucks and road trips, we decided to do the heavy work in Amboasary (cutting, planing, marking, etc.). Then will assemble on site over there in Ankilemiavotse.
Fenoke and Manapototse will have to stay in the village for maybe a week to do that.
I have attached a few photos where there are models for the school benches.
Also, there will be two blackboards and tables and chairs for the two teachers.
Basic school supplies for all the children (still needs to confirm numbers, but on average 150...)
The well is now empty so we will organize the truck to refill the well (18,000 litres) to provide safe drinking water to all the children.
Depending on how this week goes, hoping to make a move to Ankilemiavotse towards the end of next week.
As you can imagine the population of Ankilemiavotse and surrounding are feeling deep gratitude.
Their children will start school in a classroom! Education is important.
