is on again… this Saturday, 6th June from 10am till 3pm.

I’ve started big stitch hand quilting my Garden Variety Quilt using Garden Variety Wovens by Anna Maria Textiles. The quilting thread is Eleganza Perle #8.

Please note - my “big stitch” quilting is tongue-in-cheek.. it’s actually bigger than my usual quilting stitch - by a whisker 🤣

As always tea/coffee etc provided.
This is not a teaching day - but I’m here if you get stuck 😊

Please let me know if you are coming.

Today, 11th May, is the day we celebrate as my little pup’s birthday. She is 12 today and I thought I would make her a birthday cake.. something I don’t normally do - but did today..
A mulberry muffin, complete with candle..
Notice she was completely avoiding the muffin - didn’t even look at it - and evacuated the room.. until the candle had been blown out and the muffin chopped up 🤣
She is my little down-to-earth, no-nonsense girl.. happy birthday Pop ❤️

Time to get stuck into those half finished projects and let them see the light of day 😊

This is not a teaching day - but I’m here if you get stuck 😊

I’ve picked up my by again to hand quilt - as you do.. it’s gradually creeping towards the edges - which is a bit exciting 🥰

Please let me know if you are coming.

Thought you may like to see where my sewing room was when I started doing patchwork - yes, in the back of our old Holden ute..
We came to Tasmania in 1983 on our honeymoon and bought a block of land.. as you do - returning the following year to do some work on it.. which is what is happening in this photo.
A new friend I had met the previous year suggested I do a patchwork class with Fran Williams from The Quilt Patch in Launceston - to meet people from the little village we eventually moved to..
We were only in Tassie for a couple of weeks - and was able to squeeze in a couple of classes.
Fabrics were bought from Petit Point in Launceston.. cutting was done on my knee in the back of the ute, with Bruce - our blue heeler/border collie watching on..
So that was it - 1984 - hooked 🥰 - thanks for including that new blow-in in your class Fran 🤗 it has brought me many many hours of creativity, friendships that just keep growing - and never a bored moment 💕
