I've recently completed two collaboration projects with a local stained-glass artist Ke Ry.

The first piece, titled Red Dwarf, captures the quiet gravity of a tiny star held in orbit. The hand-forged frame, shaped from plaited steel and finished with curling cosmic arcs, forms an eternal loop around a five-point stained-glass star glowing in deep celestial red.

The second piece, title Dragon Portal, captures the instant a crimson stained-glass dragon tears through the boundary between realms. Encircling it, the hand-forged steel portal, its ring bristling with jagged outward spikes, is a physical manifestation of the brutal forces required to bind two realms together.

This piece, titled ‘Love Blooms’, was commissioned to mark that special day, with the couple’s names and wedding date delicately engraved onto the twin heart-shaped blooms .

Creating scrolls is a fundamental skill in blacksmithing. I'm working on a piece that calls for 16 identical scrolls, so I start by sketching the exact shape in pavement chalk on the workshop floor—this becomes my template for consistency as I form each scroll. Most of the shaping is done with adjustable scrolling forks mounted in the vice, which come in various sizes to match different diameter curves.
