We downloaded Hipcamp and booked our first stay… buckle in for an honest review 😜

“It feels like Temu.” — Isla, on arrival 😂

To be fair, we thought we were lost. It was a little Insta vs reality when all we had to go off was a handful of beautiful photos on an app!

But we settled in, relaxed a little and decided to make the most of it… rain and all. 🌧️

We wanted to find hidden gems, and somehow, we’d landed in one.

📍 The Beach Arrawarra

Is it a youth hostel? A surf camp? Someone’s backyard turned holiday destination? We’re still not entirely sure 😅 But here’s what we DO know:

✔️ Right on the beach AND the lake.
✔️ Extremely clean amenities.
✔️ A little two-minute adventure onto the beach, with crystal-clear water.
✔️ A short walk to Arrawarra headland for a cowrie hunt.
✔️ A beautiful lake for kayaking.
✔️ A rooster alarm clock and chooks to clean up our crumbs. Just like home 🤪

The cabins on the lake? STUNNING. And there are bell tents in the Tipi Village too!

Whatever this little place is, it won us over. A little adventure, not a lot of luxury and a reminder that first impressions don’t always tell the whole story.

I still giggle when people knock on the door and need to ask what the eggs are and what they taste like.

Sometimes if I feel like the person can have some fun I’ll say the yolk is the same colour as the shell 😜 but of course tell them I’m joking.

Some knock to say thank you and acknowledge their beauty and cleanliness, some knock to say that they really enjoyed them!

Yesterday we had an elderly man who for the first time saw a coloured egg and knocked to ask what we had done 😂

six years of coloured eggs for us and still collecting new shades everyday, I don’t think it will ever get boring.

We’re already down to our last bloom jar this morning!

We also have sugar and cinnamon candied pecan nuts (I’m very supportive that my kids haven’t been out and asked if they could have them) 😅 they don’t last long in our house.

Premium soy wax melts with beautiful fragrances like coconut raspberries and vanilla and black raspberry, clean cotton & more.

Skin safe fragrance that don’t give me a head ache! 🙌🏼 that’s a win.

Bloom jars have been added to the stand!
The early bird gets the worm.

Love daylight savings and being able to be in the garden during my favourite time of the day.

Tomorrow we also have candied sugar and cinnamon pecan nuts.

OUR FAVOURITE BASKET OF GOODIES!

It’s hard to be happy when we’re so sad, but it’s hard not to smile when you have a basket of babies!
We have hatched some beautiful Pekins && we have some pretty fluffy babies from Kangaroo creek farm

Annnnnd our lovely friend Helen Lee has given us two beautiful call ducks to replace our little ones taken during the week.
They’re the children of which we couldn’t keep 😂
They were going walk about and taking an afternoon swim in the pools of the neighbourhood.

What goes around, comes around. 🐥🪿
How can we not be happy with that, my heart is so full.
