As International Insect Week draws to a close, we have one more beautiful insect to celebrate - the Madagascan Sunset Moth ✨

That’s right, this beauty is a moth, not a butterfly! We tend to think of moths as dull and colourless, but that’s certainly not always the case. There are many species of brightly coloured moths, and many species that are diurnal, not nocturnal!

It’s International Insect Week! And we’ve got another cool insect to introduce you to..

It’s International Insect Week! 🪲

Let’s talk about what makes insects, insects.

🐞 Insects are defined by having 3 body segments - a head, a thorax and an abdomen.
🐜 Insects have 6 legs and a pair of antennae.
🪲 Insects also have exoskeletons, meaning they have their skeletons on the outside of their bodies to protect everything inside.

Insects are also the largest group of animals on Earth! 🌏
