OKTOBERFEST RECAP 🍺 // On Friday we made our way to for their Oktoberfest Party! Having created the steins with you in our Craft Beer & Clay workshops in Aug/Sep, this was Part 2 - The Collection!

We've been working our Lederhosen butts off 😅 to get your steins through the kilns & it paid off! The glazes really showcased your beautiful craftwork. But no way we could give you your steins empty! Boundary Island really came through by providing your first fill on the house 😎 and you guys really showed up to make the most of it!

Shout out to our workshop participants and Boundary Island Brewery for a brilliant night (be sure to check out the last pic 😜😂)

These four legends turned WINE & WHEELS into a party! Mud on the face, non-stop laughs, and zero chance of keeping a straight face during the wheel demo. If you know, you know 😏

Let’s just say their creations weren’t the only thing getting a little dirty.⁠ They made matching hand-built cups with a cheeky surprise inside (yes, we saw the swear word 😂).

MEET KRISTY // One of the most talented hand builders we know, with a whimsical sense of style! . 💮

She is one of the kindest, cosiest instructors here at Get Muddy, and we can't help but shine a spotlight on her amazing journey! 🥰

Kristy first discovered her passion for pottery during her high school days in art class 👩‍🎨, where she fell in love with the transformative power of clay. After a brief hiatus, she returned to pottery about 3-4 years ago, and let me tell you, she hasn't looked back since! 🎉

Kristy’s creativity flows as effortlessly as the clay in her hands. 🙌 Her love for raw, “earthy” home decor shines through in her work, and her background as a florist inspires her to create stunning Australiana pieces that bring a touch of nature into every home. 💮🌻

When she's not nurturing the creativity of her students, you can find her at home, getting muddy in her home studio, or trying to keep up with her 2 children. 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT - Rhys // A gift voucher and a 'Craft Beer & Clay' 🍺 Workshop later - and the rest was history!

Although Rhys thought he lacked the creativity 🧑‍🎨, he was searching for something therapeutic he could do for himself, to recoup from a strenuous work life. As he showed some interest in Pottery, his wife gave him the push he needed to begin his journey.

After making a rad beer stein at one of our workshops, Rhys finally took the plunge and enrolled in our Beginner's Wheel Course. And we are so glad he did! 🥰

"It felt liked I had walked into the studio carrying my troubles, and then walked out again after a couple of minutes feeling significantly lighter."- Rhys

Rhys decided to take things up a notch and go bigger! He has now completed his Intermediate Wheel Course and is throwing up to 4 KILOGRAMS OF CLAY! 😅

When Rhys isn’t covered in mud he is spending time with his family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧, playing video games 🎮with friends or reading. 📚

We absolutely LOVE it when a little bit of workshop fun turns into the beginning of a beautiful pottery journey. We are so excited to see how Rhys progresses throughout his pottery journey.
