Come along as we grow our Queen Anne Lace another of our trial blooms for this year 🤍🌱
Planted back in February, it has now seen 4 seasons, surviving the summer heat as seedlings, autumn, being frozen in winter and is still going ☀️🍂❄️🌸
I have learnt where NOT to plant and are succession planting for the next lot🌱🤍🌺
It’s all about learning here in the patch🙏🙌💐🌱🍂

Our Patch Flower Farm page was made to show a bit of what it takes to grow the blooms for Southern Forest Flowers A bit of the behind the scenes of wins and fails and of our little farm we love so much🚜🧑🏻‍🌾🌸🌻🐝🪲
This year is all about learning and trialling new flowers and foliage.
I happily tell folks I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m just giving it a crack, sharing ideas and learning from others.
I sure ain’t fancy. My hair is always feral, my hands full of ingrained dirt but if you want to see how we grow our blooms, you found the right place 🌱🐝💐🪏💪
Here is our Sweet Williams planted back in June🌱

It’s getting warmer in the patch and walking in the longer grass freaks me out as the snakes🐍 are out and about.
Note to self, when you been in winter trackies forever and too lazy for self care, your legs will be feral🤦🏻‍♀️😳

Anyone want to guess what this weird looking flower is? 🧐🌺
My first year growing these blooms and they have been in since February 2026🌱 Almost 7 months and this is the first flower spike🌺
They have survived the summer heat as seedlings, have grown through winter and the frosts❄️🥶

This year in the patch we have lots of flowers and bulbs we are trialling. It’s so exciting to see the long months of waiting- not so patiently- and all the hard work paying off.
I try and suss what works, what doesn’t, I am forever learning with this flower gig💐🌷🌱🌺
