Equity Makers Sunshine Plaza

Equity Makers Sunshine Plaza Equity Makers is an initiative supporting Sunshine Coast artists with disability. All proceeds of sale are returned to artists.

Equity Makers is a platform for artists to have their art visible to the public, sell their art, share their individual stories and open opportunities for their individual growth and economic participation. What a fantastic day at All Access Day in the Park in Buderim! 🌿✨

We loved being part of such a welcoming community event and were thrilled to see such a great turnout throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall, shared a chat, and supported our makers. 💛

We hope all the mums out there enjoyed their special gifts and felt celebrated this Mother’s Day weekend. 🌸🎁

A big thank you to the organisers, volunteers, and everyone who made the day so memorable and to Gabby and Sandy for helping to run our stall — we can’t wait for the next one!

Artist Profile – Sarah Kopecky

Sarah is a First Nations artist with family connections to Maralinga in South Australia. Inspired by the artistic traditions of her mother and grandmother, her work is deeply connected to culture, family, and creative expression.

Sarah creates vibrant dot paintings, often featuring animals, landscapes, and abstract shapes. She enjoys exploring colour and pattern, allowing each piece to evolve organically. Beginning with a blank canvas, her process is intuitive and meditative—building up thousands of carefully placed dots over days of focused work.

Working across a variety of canvases and surfaces, and beginning to explore 3D printing, Sarah’s primary passion remains painting. Each artwork is slowly developed and entirely unique, reflecting her personal style and connection to storytelling through colour and form.

Sarah’s work is meaningful because no two pieces are ever the same. Every painting carries its own rhythm, energy, and individuality, created through patience and care.

Sarah’s work will be available from 1st May as part of our Icon’s Exhibition for the

We are excited to be a part of Horizon Festival 2026!

Horizon Festival is an annual arts and cultural festival exploring the intersections of art, people and place on Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Country, Sunshine Coast.

Equity Works will present the Icons exhibition. A vibrant showcase celebrating the creativity and vision of thirty Sunshine Coast artists living with disability.

The collection will invite audiences to experience the region’s unique atmosphere, culture, and spirit through deeply personal and diverse perspectives. Each artwork will explore iconic places, memories, people, objects, and concepts – revealing interpretations that are distinctive, authentic and inspiring.

More than an exhibition, Icons will act as a platform for inclusion and representation. It will amplify voices that are often unheard, creating a space where artists with disability can share their stories, identity, and talent with the wider community.

This program will be presented by Equity Works in partnership with Horizon
