Our latest shipment of Wall Lights arrived last week - which has meant long hours and late nights quality checking and getting them off to their new homes as quickly as possible.

But I even love this - pretty unglamorous - part of running Her Hands…

I still get excited about unpacking each piece, and wondering about the forever home it’s going to.

And it always gives me a strong wave of determination to keep going. Despite alllll the challenges that come with building a small batch business - the pieces do feel different. And this feels right.

This shipment once again mostly sold through before it arrived. We have Rise in stock and ready to ship, and a small number of Echo and Form available in our shipment arriving in a few weeks.

Our next batches are in production, and we’ll let you know about dates beyond that once we know.

Oh we're looking forward to having her on our shelves this week.

Our first batch of Rise sold out on the first night we launched her. We still have some pieces available in the shipment arriving with us this week.

It will be good to have her back 🤍

I’ve just loved watching each room in Maison Soleil be revealed... In this week’s Episode 2, Echo was there in the main bedroom and ensuite 🤍

It’s exactly what I hoped for with our wall lights - enough character to add interest, but simple enough to work from room to room.

Your love for these means we’ve just placed another order with the small team of women artisans in Lombok who make these - definitely my favourite part of the job. Sarré ♡

Our next small batch is due into Melbourne next week - available online now for dispatch from 21 September.

Our next batch of Clay Wall Lights is only a week away now - but its later than we expected and we wanted to let you know why…

We have partnered with an independent third party to undertake quality checks on every piece before it leaves Lombok.

Each of our Clay Wall Lights is made by hand, which means there will always be the little variations - it’s what we love about handmade pieces.

But for this batch, there were some pieces we weren’t completely happy with - and it took some changes and an extra round of inspection before we gave the sign-off to ship.

It does add time, which sometimes causes delays. But I’d much rather that than send something that isn’t of the quality we and our customers expect.

I’ve been feeling disconnected lately…

We’ve got two shipments arriving this month, so there’s been a lot of focus on stock, quality control, managing preorders and international logistics… all the operational stuff.

I always feel off when I get pulled too deep into the operations and disconnected from the purpose of the business.

And it’s always my beautiful customers who bring me back 🤎

(And yes, I’ve just purchased a better quality microphone ☺️)
