Adaptive Neck Scarves (NDIS Friendly) π
As well as running my small handmade business, I also work as a disability support worker. Because of this, I understand how important comfort, dignity, and practicality are in everyday support.
A few years ago, a father approached me at the Mornington Main Street Market looking for something specific for his daughter.
This product is a soft, absorbent neck scarf that could help manage oral motor challenges whilst protecting her skin. So I designed one.
These scarves include multiple absorbent layers, helping to:
β’ absorb moisture
β’ protect clothing
β’ prevent skin irritation and rashes
β’ maintain dignity
Five years later he found me again and told me they were still using the original ones every day. This week I made another 24 scarves for them.
Hearing that something handmade can make life a little easier for a family means everything to me.
If you are a parent, carer, therapist or support coordinator looking for something like this, feel free to reach out.
