The builder said the support for this pendant was fine.

Before it went up, we checked. It wasn't enough.

The electrician rebuilt it the support.

The lights we selected were heavy and the electrician wasnt sure of what the builder had provided so we reinforced that support.

This is what a double-height space with two very different sides looks like, done properly.

Height and scale change what a hallway can do.

This one runs the full length of the home — layered lighting on the artwork, a floating console, and a sightline straight through to the living room.

Some spaces are corridors.

This one was designed to be a room in its own right.

A hallway this size needed more than standard downlights to feel considered.

Every artwork along this wall was given its own lighting layer — so the pieces read properly whether it's daylight or 9pm, not just lit as a corridor you walk through.

The console at the end continues that thinking.

It floats, with a cut-through detail that lets light pass through, and a bronze-tinted mirror instead of the clear glass most people default to.

Save this if you're planning a hallway or entry that deserves more than an afterthought.

This mirror isn't the glass you'd expect in a hallway.

Bronze-tinted, with a cut-through that lets light pass straight through it — a small twist on something most homes treat as an afterthought.

The console beneath it floats, with a recessed LED glow underneath.

Together, they turn a hallway into the kind of space you actually notice.

This guest room came together after the client mentioned their parents often stay for extended periods.

The bed moved toward the door.

A window seat took its place — somewhere for a quiet cup of tea in the morning, without needing to leave the room.

Some of this was still possible to change, even at lock-up.

Some of it took more effort than it should have.

This one arrived at lock-up — later than I'd usually recommend, and the client said as much themselves.

We still made it work.
