Happy Easter!
I hope youโ€™re all having a lovely break. Iโ€™m certainly enjoying some rest, peace and mostly quiet ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ˜„ after a few massive months of all the things!

Here is a bit of information below about how I approached making work for this exhibitionโ€ฆ

In this exhibition, Katie gives herself permission to explore image-making through a more abstract and experimental approach, shifting away from representational outcomes towards process-led exploration. Working with materials and textures more commonly used in her creative and wellbeing workshops, she embraces tactile surfaces, layering, and materials to allow the work to evolve organically. She also explores the power of Flowers. Exploring how they can aid us to heal in a sensory way, whether it be emotionally, physically, and even aesthetically during all the different times in life. There are themes of love, loss, and growth in life and nature.ย
A central theme of the exhibition is connection to creative lineage. Katie honours the artistic and craft traditions of those who came before her, particularly her mother and grandmother, by incorporating inherited fabrics, brocades, and textiles into the works. These materials become both physical and symbolic threads, interweaving personal history with contemporary practice and reflecting a shared love of flowers, making, and decorative detail.

Loving that I get to work in some glorious gardens. And itโ€™s an honour to support people who need an extra hand or two. I think brings all of us # lots of joy and happiness ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒป
