Happy New Year to all of my wonderful clients and followers. I hope 2026 has been treating you well so far. I am feeling fresh and excited to jump into 2026!
NEW PROJECT TO SHARE...
I’ll be sharing the epic transformation of this impressive double redbrick property, over the coming weeks/months. This house sits on approximately 2,600m² in the leafy eastern suburb of Vermont.
The home’s exterior and interior features extensive exposed red brick, which we agreed felt overdone. To honour the brick’s origin—salvaged from Melbourne’s historic shot tower in Melbourne Central—we decided to retain some of its character while covering or softening the rest.
Given the large scope of work for this project, we decided to tackle it in two stages. In the first stage, we focused on redesigning the entrance, formal living/office, kitchen-dining area, and rumpus room.
My clients wanted a brighter, more welcoming home while preserving the building’s classic character. We went for a classic style with subtle country farmhouse touches throughout.
Our mutual love for dark green, inspired the modern country-style kitchen. From there we pulled this colour palette into the (already dark) lounge room, to embrace a cosy/moody environment. The thoughtful shades of green work so beautifully with the volume of leafy trees peering through the windows.
The dark foyer was transformed into a light and bright, welcoming entrance, while the rumpus room became far more functional and thoughtfully considered for entertaining.
Stay tuned over the coming weeks while I unpack this dreamy project for you!
