Abandoned Baskets — Small Business Owners, We’d Love Your Advice 📣💎
Calling all crystal shop owners, boutique owners and small-business managers — do you deal with abandoned baskets?
We’ve recently had a few baskets discovered on our shelves filled with beautiful crystals that had been carefully selected, but never made it to checkout.
And there can be so many reasons behind it.
Sometimes little ones get excited and start collecting their own “treasures” while Mum is shopping, only for those items to be left behind. 🥰
Other times, during our online live sales, customers may decide not to proceed with certain pieces for personal or financial reasons — which we completely understand. 🤍
The challenge is what happens afterwards.
A team member then needs to spend valuable time identifying, checking and returning each item to its correct place. And unfortunately, we also occasionally find damaged or broken pieces left behind without anyone letting our team know.
We understand that plans change, budgets change and sometimes people simply change their minds. We’re not here to judge — we’d simply love to understand how other small businesses manage this situation.
💎 Do you have a policy for abandoned baskets?
💎 How do you handle items left behind after live sales?
💎 What do you do when you discover damaged items on the shelf?
💎 Do you have a system that helps prevent this from happening?
Small business owners, please share your tips below! 👇
We’d love to learn from our fellow business owners — and hopefully find better ways to make the experience easier for both our customers and our team. ✨
