⚠️ Community Update – Fire Danger Rating ⚠️
Tomorrow Victoria has been issued a Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating, with forecast winds up to 90km/h. These conditions mean fires can start and spread very quickly.
Coliban Water has advised residents to prepare for possible changes to water pressure and availability, as water supplies may be prioritised for firefighting if required.
This isn’t shared to cause alarm, but to help everyone feel informed, prepared, and calm.
Simple things you can do today:
🔥 Review your fire plan; know when you will leave and where you will go.
🔥Pack important items and documents, please include food water and wool blankets if you have them.
🔥 If your plan is to leave early, consider doing so before conditions worsen.
🔥 Charge phones, power banks, and keep torches handy.
🔥 Fill a few containers or bathtubs with water for basic needs (if appropriate).
🔥 Clear leaves and debris from around your home.
🔥 Bring outdoor items inside or secure them due to strong winds.
🔥 Keep pets indoors or have their evacuation items ready.
🔥 Stay updated via VicEmergency and local alerts.
🔥 Notify family and friends of your plans.
On days like tomorrow, the safest option is often to leave high-risk areas early. If you’re unsure, it’s okay to ask for advice or lean on neighbours and family.
Please check on vulnerable friends, neighbours, and anyone who may not be online.
Let’s look out for one another, stay aware, and stay safe 🤍
