010825: Thank you to everyone who showed such great interest in my West Footscray project recently!
.
It’s been exciting to share the interiors during demolition. And now, here are some a the 3D visualisation I created for the kitchen early in the design process to clearly communicate the vision to the clients.
This apartment is a bit of an elevated pocket rocket with a small footprint but full of ambition, design intention and impact.
From the first brainstorming sessions to conceptualisation, visualisations (like this one), and meticulous documentation—every step helps shape the outcome, and is all part of what makes the process so rewarding and successful.
This image began as a SketchUp model, which I then experimented with using AI to enhance it. While I think it turned out pretty great in the end (if I say so myself), it still took some wrangling and wasn’t the first attempt… even with super specific instructions. AI always wants to take a few creative liberties (like changing the kitchen mixer tap, even though it was identical in both original models).
I’m still a little wary of AI’s ethical and environmental implications in design and using it sparingly, but I’m also curious about how it might support creativity and efficiency, especially in small studios. Staying open, learning as I go. What do you think? xx
