🚨 Toowoomba Homeowners – Is Your Home Smoke Alarm Compliant? 🚨

The countdown is on! By 1 January 2027, all existing homes in Queensland must have interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms installed to meet current legislation. (Queensland Fire Department)

To be compliant, smoke alarms must:
✅ Be photoelectric (not ionisation)
✅ Be interconnected so when one sounds, they all sound
✅ Be installed in every bedroom
✅ Be installed in hallways leading to bedrooms (or in the path of travel if there is no hallway)
✅ Be installed on every level of your home (Queensland Fire Department)

Don’t leave it until the last minute—protect your family and avoid the end-of-year rush.

📞 Wallace Electrical can inspect your existing smoke alarms and install a compliant system to Australian standards.
