SCS powder is back in stock. There is a nationwide shortage and pricing has gone up about 40% 😢 unfortunately with freight cost increases as well. So the good news is I was able to source some still, but the bad news is that the price has risen substantially. The Scs needles are unable to be sourced anywhere atm. Below is some information on the popular SCS product.
SCS is a powdered personal care foaming ingredient. It is a palm oil free alternative to SLSA powder (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate). The feedstock is 100% derived from Coconut Oil and so is 100% palm free as well as EO/PO free. It is a primary surfactant with excellent flash foaming properties. It can used in a wide variety of personal care and industrial applications as a foaming and wetting agent. It meets OECD standard 301 requirements for primary biodegradability. General usage quantity in bath bombs is 2 to 5% depending on the amount of bubbles desired, also a main ingredient for shampoo bars.
