Yes, I'm still working on my Sunday tee. I've got about 10cm left to do on the body. I'm almost there!! For most of the project I was focusing about how long it it was taking me to knit, so in turn, I was taking the enjoyment out of it.

I suppose I was striving to share content with you and forgot the essence of what drives me to craft. It's the actual doing that I love. Yes its always nice to finish something, but then I always get that feeling of loss. A bit like finishing a great book, and then you feel the loss of not being with the characters.

This past fortnight I've changed my attitude - It's not a race afterall. And I've now found myself smiling as I sit and knit 😊🧶

🧶🌍 Worldwide Knit & Crochet in Public Day 🌍🧶

This coming Saturday, 13 June, crafters around the world will be celebrating Worldwide Knit & Crochet in Public Day — the largest global fibre arts event, held annually on the second Saturday in June.

The day brings knitters and crocheters together in public spaces such as parks, libraries, cafés and community venues to connect, share skills, inspire others, and show that fibre arts are for everyone.

How serendipitous that Hooked on Molong is hosting its monthly Social Saturday on the very same day!

Brrr, its starting to cool somewhat in beautiful Molong Nsw. Forecasts for the upcoming week are highs in the low 10's. So its time to consider prepping for the cold winter ahead.

An upcoming project of mine will be the "Marlon 646". It not only looks so warm and cozy, it will be. Made using Bellissimo Luna, a 12 ply Baby Alpaca and Merino wool blend. Bellissimo is an Aussie owned brand, with fibres sourced from across Australia 🇦🇺 and New Zealand 🇳🇿, spun in Italy 🇮🇹

"Marlon 646" is worked from the bottom up, with seamed arms, and front and back panels. Perfect for all, but especially those who prefer this method over in-the-round &/or top down 😊

Hello friends! Tomorrow, Saturday 9th May, HOM and will be hosting its first EARTH & FIBRE Mini Fest.

First up HOM will be teaching participants to crochet a doily in the morning. Then following a delicious lunch at .molong participants will then make from scratch their very own pottery vase to take home and sit on their doily! Its going to be so much fun 😊

Due to this fest, HOM's store will be closed for general trade in the morning, opening for usual trade at midday to 4pm.

Hello friends! Whats on your hook/needle? Today I put my sticks down on my Sunday Tee and picked up my trusty hook to sample an easy crochet doily for our upcoming EARTH & FIBRE Mini Fest in May.

As a beginner session I thought a thicker weighted fibre would be easiest to handle so used Fiddlesticks Finch, a 10 ply 100% cotton.

This pic is still a WIP but participants will be learning alot! Chains, single, double and half double crochets. They'll also learn to crochet stitches 2 & 3 together!!

Ambitious for beginners? Yes! I have faith 😊 I just want to make it a little interesting for the not-so-beginners too. Its going to be loads of fun!
