My love affair with sculpting began a few years ago while visiting Murphys Creek Art Centre in South East Queensland, where I was mentored by Geoff & Ginny Ball. A truly inspiring couple, dedicated to drawing out the inner creativity in their students. Working with Hebel as a medium, time away from all things digital and learning to think and design in 3D was my regular micro-break from the busine

ss of life while discovering new things. Being a business owner of a marketing & design studio based in Toowoomba, I don’t get a lot of time to sculpt, so when I do, it’s a chance to get lost in the moment and touch base with “home”. My love of natural light, architecture and organic shapes found in every day living has been with me forever. I believe everyone is creative in immeasurable amounts, but for most of us, being intentional about discovering the medium that best fits our personality and our creative bent is not a common occurrence. The Legend says it all…
I was lucky enough to be immersed in a music culture with world class musicians as a teen in NZ that embodied all of these principles written by Chic Corea.

The heading says “cheap but good advice” but greatness as a musician or any profession always comes at a cost. Usually the cost of shutting ego out and being vulnerable.

Leaving space intentionally, preferring others and making others sound even better was and still is an honour and privilege.

Icing the cake 🎂 I was baking with the magic of my fellow musicians was just flat out fun on steroids. Grateful for that part of Kiwi and Island culture. It shaped how I engaged with the rest of my life.
