A great few days exploring Melbourne Design Week.

We visited Ross Gardam Lighting in Brunswick, Tom Fereday's exhibitions, NAU Design, and The Lost Hide at Abbotsford Convent.

The biggest takeaway? The way materials and finishes are being used right now:

- aged and smoked metals
- textured surfaces
- warm lighting
- sculptural forms
- natural fabrics and soft palettes

What struck us was how connected lighting, furniture and architectural hardware feel as a single conversation. The strongest spaces weren't loud or over-designed. They felt calm, thoughtful and deeply tactile.

Heading back to Tasmania with plenty of inspiration.

The Beddeo Street Project by F3 Studio builds intimacy into its architecture - a dressing nook recessed between greige wardrobes, unhurried and resolved, with a mustard boucle stool marking the threshold. Every surface holds the same warm tone.

When walls and wardrobes share the same colour, the hardware becomes the detail that defines the room.

Danielle Victoria Interior Design chose our Cove Semi-Circle Pull in Dull Brushed Nickel for exactly this reason. Its warm solid brass tone breaking the tonal sage palette just enough to give the joinery presence, without pulling the eye away from the room as a whole. Fine vertical panelling on the wardrobe doors does the quiet work of adding depth, and the Cove pull anchors it all with a sculptural flourish that feels considered rather than decorative.

The result is a bedroom that rewards attention - soft, layered, and resolved in every detail.

In the Harbour House Project by Felton Studio, the master suite unfolds with quiet precision - a marble dressing table, brass wall sconces, cream bedding layered with unhurried intention, and a wall mirror catching the afternoon light. Cloud Dancer white holds it all together, from the cornice to the curtains pooling on the floor.

Our Cast Prism Handle in custom-made Vintage Brass runs across the wardrobe joinery - slender, warm, hand-made. The detail that gives each wardrobe panel its identity within a palette that could so easily dissolve into itself.

The right hardware doesn't just finish a space, it resolves it.

At the Harbour House Project, Felton Studio specified our Cast Collection in custom-made Vintage Brass finish, to do precisely that. Against dark timber veneer drawers and a marble island of sweeping grey and cream, the Cast k**b and pull introduce a warmth that anchors the palette - their Vintage Brass tone sitting naturally between the depth of the timber and the luminosity of the stone.

Hand-made and sand-cast, each piece carries subtle surface variations that add a layer of material richness to the joinery - the kind of tactile detail that makes a considered interior feel complete rather than merely finished.
