Oak Hill Gallery presents new exhibitions each month and is open from each day, 10am to 4:00pm. This Italianate Victorian villa houses five rooms of works by emerging and established artists. Oak Hill Gallery is a community run gallery situated in Mornington of the Mornington Peninsula region in Victoria. Oak Hill Gallery is adjacent to the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery and the Mornington Botanic Rose Gardens.

Join us for a fusion of Japanese and Western techniques in a vibrant, hands on pottery class. This 7 week course will be tutored by Jackie Loader and mentored by Judi Singleton, offering guidance for both beginners and experienced potters.

Entries are now open for our Hold the Line Community Exhibition in September.

Hold the Line begins with the simplest of marks, the line, and follows it into all the places artists can take it. A line can guide the eye, map a memory, trace a feeling or hold a story in its most essential form. This exhibition invites artists of all backgrounds to explore the power, rhythm and emotion carried by the line through drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, textiles, photography, digital work and more. Here, the line becomes connection: between artists, ideas and the shared act of making. Holding the line reminds us that even the simplest mark has something to say.

The Beginners Guide to Drawing ✏️

Here’s a question, how do artists draw the world around them? Here’s the answer, they learn the techniques and then they keep going. Absolutely anyone can learn, including you.

Over a five week course you’re going to learn about lights and darks, the relevance of shapes, what to do about weak areas and you’ll be producing multiple drawings during every single class; the average is 18!

While you’re doing all that you’ll be playing with most of the traditional instruments of drawing. This includes variety of pencils, pens, and of course erasers! Just for the fun of it, we’ll also be using plain old dead sticks from the garden. Would you like to know what that’s about?

This is a highly productive, low stress course where enjoyment is an important goal. You don’t need to know anything about art, but you sure will by the end of the 5 weeks. Come and draw!

With over 30 years of sculpting experience and more than 15 years of teaching, Jenny brings both expertise and infectious passion to her classes. Her work spans figurative and abstract forms in Italian marble, soapstone, limestone, and bronze.

Jenny’s workshops are renowned for being creative, meditative and lots of fun. She will guide you through designing and shaping your own sculpture, whether abstract, organic, geometric, figurative, animal inspired or whatever resonates with your imagination.

Ready to loosen up, feel inspired,and seriously level up your drawing skills? This 6 week life drawing class gives you the perfect mix of guidance, practice and long poses that let you really settle into your work. Each 3 hour session includes short, clear tutorials followed by generous time drawing from the live model.
You’ll learn how to jump into a figure drawing with confidence, seeing the pose as one big idea before adding structure and detail. With demos, tips, and plenty of hands on drawing, you’ll explore gesture, block in, movement and form in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.
If you want to build solid foundations, refine your accuracy, and bring more life into your drawings, this class is suitable for both beginners and experienced artists.

Join us from 11th July to 15th August for six Saturday sessions, 12.30–3.30pm.
