Isn't she lovely?

Fittonia, better known as the Nerve Plant, has small brightly coloured leaves with a striking veining pattern. In fact, the kokedama featured last week for teachers gifts is also a fittonia with dark green leaves and white veining. They prefer bright indirect light and do not like to dry out completely, so be sure to check your kokedama every few days, particularly during the warmer months.

To water, soak in tepid water for 20-30 minutes until your kokedama is saturated and heavy. Allow it to stop dripping before returning it to its spot.

Could barely wait to share this divine custom order with you! She's a beauty and is going to her new home tomorrow. Satin Pothos or Silver Pothos are two of the common names of Scindapsus Pictus 'Exotica'. The trailing vines carry velvety heart-shaped leaves with a green and silver pattern, and will hang or climb depending on the position you give it. Satin Pothos will thrive in bright indirect sunlight, and likes to be almost (but not quite) dry before being watered.

When your kokedama requires watering (the ball of Satin Pothos will be light but ever so slightly damp to the touch), soak the ball in tepid tap water for 20-30 minutes, until the ball is heavy and saturated. Allow to drain, and return to its position. Satin Pothos likes a feed with organic liquid fertiliser every 4-5 weeks during the growing season. Just add to the soaking water and follow the manufacturer's directions for dilution.

Be extra careful with the vines when handling your kokedama.

Mini Monstera (Raphidophora Tetrasperma), or also known as Philodendron Minima, is climbing vine native to Thailand. Leaves of an immature plant are small and green, and the plant produces beautifully fenestrated leaves as it matures. Mini Monstera will thrive in bright, indirect light, or medium/dappled light.

Mini Monstera likes to dry out between waterings. Your kokedama is ready for a drink when it feels light and dry. Soak it in tepid tap water for 20-30 minutes, until the ball is heavy and saturated. Allow it to stop dripping before returning it to its position. In the growing season, it will benefit from organic liquid fertiliser added to its water. In warm conditions your kokedama will require more frequent waterings than in cooler conditions.

Pilea Peperomioides has many pseudonyms: Chinese money plant, pilea, lefse plant, UFO plant or pancake plant. And it's easy to see why. Those unusual and beautiful leaves!

The pilea really suits a kokedama because it likes to be a little root-bound and to dry out between waterings. It prefers a position in bright indirect light, and will grow towards the light, so be sure to rotate your kokedama every now and then to ensure that the vine grows upright.

Your kokedama is ready for a drink when the ball is dry to the touch and light. To water, soak in tepid tap water for 20-30min until the ball is heavy and saturated. Allow to stop dripping before returning it to its position. Your pilea will also appreciate a feed during the growing season. Do this by adding organic liquid fertiliser to its soaking water every 6-8 weeks during Spring and Summer.

This playful little pilea went out on order last week💚

The Peacock Calathea (calathea makoyana). Wow!

How striking is the leaf pattern?! Leaves become progressively larger as each new leaf unfurls. The peacock plant will tolerate low light or bright indirect light. It also likes to dry out between waterings. You'll know it's time to water your kokedama when the ball feels light and dry. Soak the ball in tepid tap water for 20-30 minutes until heavy and saturated. Let it stand to allow it to stop dripping before returning it to its position. In the growing season, add organic liquid fertiliser to the soaking water every 8 weeks or so.

With Victoria slowly emerging from lockdown and the weather warming up, it has been lovely being able to create some beautiful kokedamas made to order.

This lovely Hoya Australis is hardy and fast-growing, with long vines that develop large waxy leaves as the plant matures. To grow a happy Hoya, position this stunning kokedama in a bright spot, although it will tolerate medium to lower light as well.

It likes a good drink but needs to dry out before it's next watering. If it is positioned in a low light spot, it may not need to be watered at all in the colder months. Your kokedama is ready to water when the ball is light and dry. To water, soak the ball of the kokedama in tepid tap water for 20-30 minutes until the ball is heavy. Allow to drain before returning to its position. In the growing months (Spring and Summer), your kokedama will benefit from having liquid fertiliser added to its water every 8 weeks or so.

This show-stopper went out for delivery today, to one very happy recipient.
