In 2012 I started making candles for personal use. After extensive testing and trial and error I decided this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Being a mum of a young boy being my own boss was a life long dream. Giving up 19 years of book keeping I took the dive straight into the deep end. It’s relaxing and rewarding and after 8 years of markets I’ve taken it to the next level and I’

ve opened my very own retail store in my home town of Mornington Vic. I pride myself on providing customers with the best service and best products at competitive prices. I offer a wholesale and refill service and have a number of stockists around the Peninsula. In 2016 I started playing with a bath bomb recipe to suit sensitive skin, it’s vegan and leaves your skin feeling amazingly soft and subtle. Owned and operated by myself, my son and help occasionally from my husband we source ingredients locally and have a passion for supporting local businesses and charities. I hope you pop in sometime and check out the range of 100% handmade items. We also invite other handmaidens to sell their stock on a reasonable consignment basis.

This week I’ve had so many requests and orders for memorial candles. It hurts my heart charging people that are grieving. Asking for money while they’re trying to mourn the loss of someone they love, It’s probably one of the hardest components of my business.

I’m honoured you ask me to make your keepsakes and I’m sending anyone that needs it a big hug.

We are closed tomorrow but I’ll be working behind the scenes.

I’ve made this humongous pot, which is over 3 kg full of wax. It’s the biggest one that I’ve ever stocked. I have six empty pots.
I have two already filled in the shop that can either be refilled after you’ve spent your life burning or you can use it as a pot plant “pot” afterwards

This is guaranteed to burn for at least 250 hours. It’s $149.95 and it’s the dearest product that I’ve ever sold.

Yep no fancy machines here just me, a pair of glasses, a paint brush, the heater and the tv.

Last night I spent about 5 hours painting details on this cartoon plumber and his brother, I sell them for $8 that’s equivalent to about 30c an hour from start to finish.

Why do I do it? Cause look at the result. Hearing people say they come back for our products is the most rewarding feeling.
It’s so therapeutic and satisfying. Something money can’t buy.
