When I ask my couples about their wedding flowers, I’m not just asking what colours they like.
I’m trying to understand them and the feeling they want to create for their day.
When my husband and I got married our focus was on creating a day that felt like us. We eloped on the wild, rugged coastline of Tasmania because we love it there.
Our daughter was deep in her Lion King era, so as I walked down the aisle,Can You Feel The Love Tonight filled the air and my husband cooked up an absolute feast in his suit and all because food is his love language.
Was it traditional? Not at all.
Does it sound like everyone’s dream wedding? No.
Was it us? Completely!
As a wedding florist I think it’s important when I work with my couples to truly understand the day they want to create.
