Tigger Hall Design is a source for inspiring fabrics, lighting and homewares for interior decorators

At Tigger Hall Design we have carried out a global edit of colours and culture, scouring the globe and carefully piecing together collections by well-known international designers who have each compiled their own unique signature ranges. We import and distribute inspiring classical and contemporary textiles, home accessories and salvaged fabrics. A saturated colour palette has been the main focus

for hand screened linens, together with a collection of beautiful wool-linen plaids and tweeds, stunning embroidered linens, silks and weaves.

Block Printing: It is a process where one repeat of the design’s motif is carved by hand on teak wood blocks. It can take up to 80 hours to carve a single block. The fabric to be printed is stretched across a large wooden table. The printmaker applies dye to the carved block and then stamps it on to the fabric, repeating the process across the entire cloth.

Before setting foot in Egypt, Katie spent hours in the Egyptian Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York observing art lovers study and sketch the copies of ancient tomb paintings on the museum’s walls and viscerally understood the timeless appeal the ancient Egyptian mystique holds for us today. Shade of Sycamore is a delightful design, poetically depicting falling leaves and fruits of the sacred sycamore tree and is meant to conjure the Garden of Paradise, as glimpsed through Egyptian eyes. Go to the Egyptian wing and seek out the images from the Tomb of Usheret and pay particular attention to the beautiful blue of the branches. Shade of Sycamore.
