The beautifully figured circular top sits above an architectural pedestal base, the extensive marquetry giving the piece the decorative richness associated with Dutch and Northern European furniture.

New from Florence 🇮🇹 — because apparently Italy needed another reason to be irresistible.

Our latest collection of handmade Florentine shield shades, designed by Martin on his recent sourcing trip through Italy.

At 20cm diameter, they’re particularly good on smaller lamp bases, bedside lamps and those awkward little corners where a conventional shade simply feels too much.

Marbled papers, botanical prints, antique books and hot-air balloons — each chosen to add that particular Italian knack for making the decorative look entirely effortless.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been travelling through Northern Italy meeting makers, visiting textile houses, exploring antique markets and sourcing beautiful pieces that will soon find their way into Walsh Home.

More importantly, this journey has expanded what we can now offer our clients.

Our growing library of Italian fabrics, passementerie, trims and decorative textiles means we can now create even more bespoke cushions and soft furnishings, alongside our carefully curated collection of antiques, artwork and handcrafted decorative objects.
