I've been very quiet on here for the past 6 months as a busy life has gotten in the way.... but I have to share this gorgeous house that kick-started my passion for Interior Design.
It's still stunning although many decor changes have occurred since I used to babysit my dear friends cherubs, often from the cedar spa bath, no longer there!
There's some period changes that are very 80's, 90's etc dated and the first Laura Ashley wallpapers I ever saw have gone, but the gorgeous original timber features remain, thankfully they haven't been painted as has happened in many of these treasures.
What a beautiful stunning home.
The friends who lived here were great influencers in my going into this industry & integral in the advice given before opening Inside Story. So to the first female architect I ever met and the building entrepreneur, I thank you for your encouragement, for sharing your love of beautiful homes and hope that this classic one remains in good hands forever! 🏠💕

Maybe not a design post & should be on my private page but WOW if I've learnt anything it's that curtains are better insulation than blinds! In an effort to make space for furniture under an awkward corner window instead of floor length blockout curtains I changed to some trendy blinds - big mistake!!! I've already gone through my samples and picked a new fabric for some ceiling to floor length separately lined blockout curtains to keep out the big chill that's "hit us for 6"... that's 6° outside I think ❄🌬
In other news relevant to the weather, I'm grateful to have received these cosy warm ugg boots for Mother's Day 💙👌 Wore them last night to show I loved them, love that I'm wearing them tonight because I need them! 😍🌧

Black & White never gets old, this was a project from awhile ago...
The curtains throughout the house were one of the selling features commented on when this home sold, the wallpaper which I sourced from USA actually had swarovski crystals featured & photos don't do it justice.
Home staging had to happen overnight (literally.. got a desperation call; entered home about 9pm & left about 3am) so didn't run out & buy anything new. I'm equipped with many props & can see the possibilities available, no need to always spend heaps on hiring or purchasing, just vision!

Sometimes when looking at Real Estate online, I come across some of the work I've done. This job was probably the most intricate of all wardrobes I designed to fit the space. It may have been better doing a custom made to measure job but I'm pretty proud of the way the gorgeous clients got to work in some extra features for minimal costs. I wished I'd taken some interior photos, especially once it was loaded up, one of the thinner pull out cupboards housed all the fun jewellery, clutches scarves & accessories this lovely mumma wears. There was long hanging space for dresses & suits, shirts, skirts & pants, shelves for shoes, plenty of storage including the flat panels above which hid suitcases & things we need, but not often. This wasn't a $4k+ project & yes there's almost 4m width in these wonderful wardrobes.
A gorgeous older home renovated to look light, bright & lovely by the gorgeous guys who lived here, many happy memories for them!
Ps - I had the blockout Romans made for them too 😘

Flashback- on this day 2017 with a visit to the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. So many photos taken of such a wonderful event, something I look forward to attending again in upcoming years.
