From concept to construction ✨ | McCrae

One of my favourite parts of a new build is seeing a concept move from an idea on a screen to something that is ready to be built.

For this McCrae project, every detail of the kitchen has been carefully considered — not just how it looks, but how this family will actually live in the space.

From the overall layout and flow, to cabinetry, storage, appliance placement, lighting, materials, finishes and the smallest details — the design process has allowed us to consider the space from every angle before construction begins.

These concepts give both my clients and the builder a clear visual roadmap, meaning decisions have been made, considered and resolved before they reach site. It creates confidence in the build and, most importantly, ensures the finished home feels cohesive, beautiful and purposeful.

For me, good interior design isn’t just about making a space look beautiful. It’s about understanding how you live, then designing around that.

I can’t wait to see this one come to life. 🤍

What was once a tired kitchen is now a warm, welcoming space designed for gathering, entertaining and everyday family life.

For this Brighton renovation, every element was carefully considered to create a kitchen that feels timeless, functional and beautifully layered. The stunning pink Patagonia stone was used across the benchtops and splashback, bringing movement, softness and a unique sense of luxury to the heart of the home.

A few of my favourite details:

✨ The stone apron detail to the island, giving the bench a beautiful furniture-like presence.
✨ The feature pelmet with concealed lighting, adding warmth and subtle mood lighting throughout the space.
✨ ZETR power points, selected for their refined, minimalist profile to complement the aged brass fixtures.
✨ Polytec cabinetry in a warm timber finish, bringing texture and softness to the overall palette.
✨ Brodware tapware in aged brass, adding a timeless, sophisticated touch.
✨ Expansive windows and generous bench space, creating the perfect setting for hosting family and friends.

The final slide captures the full kitchen and bar area, where the lighting, materials and joinery come together to create a space that feels both elegant and deeply inviting.

This is why I love renovation projects, seeing the potential in a space and helping clients transform it into a home that truly works for the way they live.

More than a beautiful bathroom… it’s a carefully considered design.

This is the master ensuite concept for our McCrae Project, created in collaboration with Salthouse Builder.

One of the biggest challenges for clients building a new home is being able to visualise how all of the individual selections will come together. That’s where I come in.

Before construction is complete, I create detailed design concepts and realistic renders that allow my clients to see their future spaces with confidence. Every finish, material, fitting and detail is thoughtfully selected to create a cohesive, timeless interior that’s tailored to the way they live.

For this ensuite, we focused on warm natural textures, soft layered lighting, elegant brass detailing and a calming, spa-like atmosphere—creating a space that feels both luxurious and functional.

The details make all the difference ✨

One of our favourite selections throughout this renovation was the beautiful aged brass tapware from Brodware. The warm brass finish adds depth and character to every space, creating a timeless feel that complements the natural materials used throughout the home.

We’re especially obsessed with the ribbed detail on the progressive mixer at the kitchen island sink. It’s those thoughtful touches that elevate a design from functional to truly special.

Our Brighton renovation is complete, and our clients have officially moved in.

A warm and inviting palette of natural timber tones, layered textures and striking stone features creates a home that feels both refined and welcoming. Expansive windows flood the interiors with natural light, blurring the line between indoors and out and creating a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

It’s always rewarding to see a vision come to life, but even more special knowing this beautiful family is now settling in and enjoying every space of their newly renovated home.
