A new Class 9a conversion is currently underway in Melbourne.

Taking the site from an existing retail fitout to a day hospital demands significant increases in heating, cooling and air quality standards, ensuring it can handle the stringent requirements of a Class 9a facility.

Last week, that included craning 400kg mechanical condensers onto the roof, to support the upgraded air conditioning and filtration systems required for the clinical environment.

Take a closer look at IVF Australia’s new clinic in Liverpool, Sydney.

Designed and delivered by Interite earlier this year, the 700 sqm facility brings every stage of the IVF journey under one roof. From calming patient spaces, to a specialised laboratory, procedure centre and recovery suites.

Delivered on within a live environment at Sydney Southwest Private Hospital, our team carefully coordinated works to ensure minimal disruption to surrounding hospital services while maintaining a tight construction programme.

Last week, our Interior Design team came together in Sydney, touring the Nouva Joinery and Polytec factories before wrapping up at Australia's Design & Build Week. Three days of hands-on exposure to new materials, emerging technology, and new ways of approaching healthcare design.

Time away from the day-to-day is easy to deprioritise, but the return compounds tenfold.

As Senior Interior Designer, Junko Windust, said:
"It was an incredibly worthwhile experience on a few levels: Connecting with the other designers in person, staying across where the industry is headed, and exploring how we can bring fresh thinking into our projects. Visiting Nouva and Polytec and getting a real look at how they produce the materials we specify day-to-day was particularly valuable. It was clear how much attention and detail go into manufacturing the products we use in our designs, so collaborating with their joiners and team was a great experience. You see things very differently when you understand the process from the inside."

A new headspace coming soon to Fremantle, WA.

Construction is well underway at this 590 SQM, youth-focused centre which brings together four former retail tenancies into a unified, purpose-built space for the local community.

Tracking well against a short 60 day construction programme, the new space prioritises safety and flexibility, so young people seeking mental health services, feel supported from the first step inside.
