Hello my lovelies,
Up to now, international orders to the United States valued at under $ 800.00 USD were exempt from customs duty due to the de minimis exception. However, as of the 29th of August 2025, this will no longer be the case.
It is with a sad heart that we have made the decision to temporarily stop accepting orders from US customers due to the unknown delays and extra costs that this change will impose.
Effective immediately, we will no longer accept orders from the US. All our current Back Catalogue Subscriptions with customers in the United States will be suspended.
Packages entering the US after the 29th of August will be subject to import duties, tariffs, processing, and broker fees. This means you, as the customer, will be required to pay these fees before you can receive your package from us.
This is not a charge by Aussie Maille, but rather one charged by the US government. We do not pay this fee; you, as the purchaser, must.
We don’t think that many people will be willing to pay the additional cost (and we don’t blame them) when their package arrives in the US. This will result in the packages being returned to us, resulting in unhappy customers and a loss of income for us.
We are suspending shipping now so that the existing orders and Back Catalogues that we do have will have a chance to enter the US before these changes are implemented.
Clearly, this is not something that we want to do. We have enjoyed a lovely relationship with our US customers over the years, and The Back Catalogue Subscription service is a particular favourite of theirs; it will be a blow to our little business.
This decision is based on our current understanding of the rules, and if this is incorrect, or if anything changes, we will remove the suspension.
We are sorry that this has happened and we hope you understand that this is not in our control. Please keep being a part of our community, and we look forward to a future when we can resume our shipments to you.

Edited to add: I have deleted all comments and have limited who can post. I will not allow this to turn into a political post. I am just informing my customers in the US that we will be suspending shipping and why. I don't need to be messaged personally attacking me and this post.
