Carsburgs Mullumbimby

The brief for this project was to take a family-owned petrol station and car dealership established by the Carsburg Family forty years ago and re-birth it for current times. Under its new custodianship, it would retain its presence as a much-loved community resource in Mullumbimby, Northern New South Wales.

The story behind each design element began in the 1930s - 1960s, looking at and reinterpreting themes around ‘transport’, most notably the repetitive use of two colors, in this case, red and white.
The red linear line on white was a design tool that wrapped the entire site, tying together the interior & exterior.
