My creative journey actually began with furniture upcycling. Later on it took a delightful turn towards pottery.

Being a succulent lover, I felt inspired to create small pots for my own collection. Today, I create and fire my pieces in my home studio.

And just like that, we are back in action! 🌊✨
I’ve actually been back at the studio for a few days now, quietly getting my hands dirty and finding my rhythm again. It feels so good to watch the clay take shape.
New pieces are officially in production—stay tuned!

What a way to end on a high note! 🇧🇷✨ The perfect grand finale to my trip to Brazil was celebrating my beautiful niece’s wedding.

It was truly the best day—filled with beautiful food, non-stop dancing, and getting to catch up with family I don’t get to see nearly often enough. My heart is so full. Cheers to the happy couple! 🥂❤️💃

Dinner with the whole crew! 🇧🇷✨ My heart is completely full having all of my children, their partners, and my husband together in Brazil. Missing the pottery wheel, but these moments are truly one of a kind.

There is something deeply sacred about a Noborigama firing. 🔥 Tucked into the hillsides of Cunha, SP, these traditional Japanese "climbing kilns" are the beating heart of our local ceramic community.

Unlike modern electric or gas kilns, a Noborigama relies entirely on wood fire, shifting winds, and the natural draft of the slope. A single firing can last days, requiring around-the-clock wood stoking to reach temperatures over 1300°C (2370°F). The magic? The flying wood ash reacts dynamically with the clay surfaces, creating completely natural, unrepeatable glazes. When you hold a piece fired here, you’re holding a unique dialogue between the clay, the wood, and the fire. 🏺✨

Cunha is an incredible hidden gem tucked away in the hills between São Paulo and Rio. It’s famous for two major things: its stunning, rolling mountain landscapes (especially the famous lavender fields) and its vibrant, world-renowned community of ceramic artists, particularly known for Noborigama wood-fired kilns.

This is Moara Café. A charming and cozy pit stop designed for slow pacing.
It features a lovely, beautifully decorated backyard garden with a small stream running past, complete with hammocks (a redário) and outdoor seating that makes it a favorite spot for couples and travelers to stretch their legs. Right at the front parking lot, you will usually spot their iconic "Fusca Jardim"—a vintage Volkswagen Beetle transformed into a flower bed that almost everyone stops to photograph.

We were on our way to Cunha and found Lagoinha. Nestled in the rolling hills of the Paraíba Valley, Lagoinha is a charming, slow-paced country town in the eastern part of São Paulo state. It embodies the traditional caipira (Brazilian countryside) culture, where life centers around quiet plazas, historic architecture, and rural traditions.
