A Chapter Closes, Another Begins 🌿

Today Toby made his last flower arrangement for Flowers Nambucca.

And truthfully… this feels emotional.

Flowers have been such a huge part of our story. Mother’s Days, birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy flowers, celebrations, heartbreak, remembrance. So many moments where flowers became a way of saying I love you, I’m thinking of you, I remember.

For a long time, we poured our hearts into Flowers Nambucca, and we are deeply grateful to every person who trusted us to create something meaningful for someone they cared about.

But life changes us.

In just a few days, on the 9th of June, it will be one year since my mum passed away.

Many of you know that for years I cared for her through dementia and illness. Caring for someone you love changes you. Losing them changes you too.

And through grief, something quietly became clearer.

In an Italian family, love is often expressed through food.

Food is care.

Food is comfort.

Food is how we gather.

It is soup when you are tired. Coffee at the kitchen table. Cake shared in conversation. Bread, warmth, company, someone making sure you have eaten.

As we moved through this past year, and as so many of you shared that you wanted more savoury food, homemade meals, soups, coffee, and a warm welcoming place to gather, something began to feel right.

Quietly, we realised we wanted to nourish people in a different way.

Flowers are beautiful, but they are also incredibly demanding, unpredictable, and labour intensive, especially for a small business run by just the two of us.

After a lot of reflection, we have made the decision to transition away from flowers and focus fully on the café side of the business.

This next chapter feels deeply personal.
It feels like care.
Care through food.
Care through warmth.
Care through conversation.
Care through community.

So here is Toby, holding the final flower arrangement created for Flowers Nambucca.

After a little pause to reconnect with family, breathe, rest, bake, reset and simply slow down for a moment, we are feeling refreshed and ready to open our doors again 💛

This break reminded us of something important… slowing down matters. Sometimes stepping away helps us return with clearer minds, fuller hearts and a deeper appreciation for the beautiful community around us.

From Monday, we’ll be back with coffee, homemade cakes baked by us from scratch, warm conversations and a fresh rhythm for this next season of Flowers Nambucca ☕🍰🌸

As part of creating a healthier balance and giving our flowers the care and attention they deserve, we are making a small change to our flower service.

🌸 Flower orders and collections will now be available:

Wednesday to Friday: 9am to 2pm
Saturday: 9am to 12pm

To keep things beautiful, simple and seasonal, flowers will now be offered as florist choice bouquets or arrangements, thoughtfully created using the freshest blooms available on the day. Working this way allows us to focus on freshness, seasonality and creating something truly beautiful each time.

We highly recommend pre ordering where possible, and ordering flowers is now easier than ever through our website order form, available anytime.
Simply choose your bouquet or arrangement, select a size, and we’ll lovingly create something beautiful for your person 💐

Our café remains open as usual, with coffee, homemade cakes and treats baked by us from scratch waiting for you.

We are learning to work in a way that feels sustainable, joyful and full of care, for the business, for ourselves, and for the beautiful community that supports us.

To everyone who supported us through Mother’s Day, checked in during our break, and continues to support our little business, thank you. We truly appreciate you and cannot wait to welcome you back.
