Celebrate Worldwide Knit in Public Day with Us!

This Saturday 13th June, we're throwing open the doors at Create Do & Mend to celebrate Worldwide Knit in Public Day – and we'd love you to join us between 10am & 12pm

Whether you're knitting a jumper, crocheting a blanket, learning something new, or just trying to finish that project that's been sitting in your bag for months... bring it along!

We're also excited to officially launch our 2026–27 Knit For Your Neighbour project, a community initiative that brings warmth, kindness and connection to those who need it most.
Throughout the year we'll be collecting handmade beanies, scarves, gloves and socks, along with donations of wool and yarn, ready to be gifted to local people next winter.

Never knitted before? That's okay too! Come along, meet The Knitwits and see what we're all about. Everyone is welcome.

Together, we can create more than warm clothing—we can create community.

TODAY IS THE DAY!

For the past 12 months, our Knit for Your Neighbour project has quietly been growing, one stitch at a time. Today, we are incredibly proud to be delivering 30 beautiful knitted blankets to our local Food Hub, ready to find their way into the hands of people in our community who need a little extra warmth this winter.

These blankets represent so much more than wool and knitting needles. They are the result of countless hours, generous hearts, and many wonderful hands working together. Every square, every seam, and every finished blanket carries with it kindness, care, and the simple belief that neighbours should look after neighbours.

A huge thank you to everyone who knitted, crocheted, sewed squares together, donated wool, shared patterns, encouraged others, and helped keep this project moving throughout the year. We simply couldn't have done it without you.

To those who donated wool – thank you. Your generosity transformed unused yarn into something truly meaningful.

And because this community never sits still, we're already looking ahead! The needles are clicking once again as we begin working towards next winter's delivery. This time we're collecting and creating scarves, beanies, and gloves (for all you clever people who know how to make them!).

If you'd like to join us, donate wool, or contribute to the next collection, we'd love to have you involved.

WOW… what a beautiful first day back at the artHouse yesterday

After a few weeks of refreshing tired spaces (and tired humans!), it felt so good to throw the doors open again — and you all certainly made us feel the love. The whole day reminded us why we do what we do.
Thank you for your patience while we took a little breather and for showing up so enthusiastically when we returned.

As we settle into the cooler months, we’ll also be moving to our winter opening hours:
