Bit by bit, step by step, my floof is becoming yarn! πŸŒ€πŸ§Ά

I've really needed this crafting side quest. It's been a necessary mindless diversion.

Behind the scenes at Windmills HQ has been quite challenging this week. From laser machine dramas and studio issues through a full spectrum of an emotional rollercoaster, to the capstone moment where Poppy did a runner on me! 😭 I panicked HARD but eventually found her scrambling in the bush behind our place, not exactly a safe environment for a bougie little lapdog! Not ashamed to admit I cried when I couldn't find her, then cried again when I finally found her. 😭😭😭
We spent the afternoon snuggling and she even got to eat rice off my chopsticks after dinner (spoiled baby for sure!)

So I'm nearly finished this spinning project, and then I'll have even more yarn! πŸ˜‚

Do you think projects get imbued with the emotions you're feeling when you create them?
Just a thought πŸ₯°

World Wide Knit in Public day is coming up and my yarn crafters group is having a little get together! πŸ₯³

If you are located in the Newcastle, Lake Mac or Hunter region, and would love to join a fun and inclusive social knitting group, WWKIP day is the perfect opportunity to make some new friends and add a few stitches! And of course our crochet friends are welcome too! πŸ§ΆπŸ’–

We're meeting at a location in Warner's Bay on Saturday 13th June so if you'd like to join us, please check out my Facebook group "Newy Yarn Crafters" for the details.

Just keeping the place and time off public socials for the group's safety πŸ‘πŸ₯°

We usually meet monthly on weeknights, but this is too good of an opportunity to have an extra get together this month!

XOX and happy stitching!

High Fibre lunchtime πŸ₯°πŸ˜‚
I'm trying to squeeze in some time for more personal crafts since I don't seem to get very much time for that, like ever 😭

So even though my daytime hours are short before I need to go do school pickup, I'm trying to fit 20mins of spinning in when I take my lunch break. Or 20mins of knitting, or crochet, or weaving.

It's day 1 and I'm hoping this will bear regular thing and not like a gym membership I pay for but never use πŸ˜‚

How do you squeeze some crafting in to your busy day?

Finally! A tiny unkillable garden and, bonus points, it's a yarn cutter too! πŸ₯°πŸ˜πŸŒ΅πŸ’–πŸ§Άβœ‚οΈ

My Succulent Garden Yarn Cutter is launching soon for Sock Week hosted by 🌸🌡 I'm so thrilled to be selected as a collaborator this year!

This gorgeous design is as adorable as it is practical! It features a hidden blade for cutting all kinds of yarn and is a perfect addition to your project bag! The succulents are all individually cut and hand painted, then assembled by hand in a delightful layered design! πŸ₯°πŸ’–πŸŒΈπŸŒ΅

The launch is happening soon!!
AEST Saturday 30th May at 9am
EDT Friday 29th May at 7pm

Who's excited for this launch this weekend?! πŸ₯°πŸŒ΅πŸ’–

Things to do when you've had a rubbish day: play with fluffy things! πŸ₯° It might not solve all the problems but it will definitely help regardless!!

I can't even tell you what went wrong today without sounding ridiculous, but one frustrating thing after another just left me in the crankiest mood ever! I kept trying to push through and try to be productive, tick things off my work list, but I should have just admitted defeat at lunchtime and called it for the day. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I've pulled out my spinning wheel for a play this afternoon, and picked out a new braid for a new project πŸ₯° this one is called Wildflowers and it's from a few years back.
Added fluff with miss Poppy, 🐢🐾 because I can't possibly do anything without her choosing my lap as the most cosiest and essential spot to sit πŸ™„πŸ˜‚
And a fancy coffee in my handmade mug, so I can feel like I have a friend here looking after me! Wish you were here too Helen!πŸ₯°

Now I need to know the ridiculous and unhinged things that irritate you... Truly heinous stuff like: your socks keep slipping back into your shoes when you walk, or why your kids have to use your hairbrush when they each have at least two of their own, or WHY ISN'T THERE ANY CHOCOLATE IN THE HOUSE IS IT SO HARD?!? πŸ˜‚

Stay warm friends πŸ₯°

Space Club! If April's club box was a song it would absolutely be a Rock anthem! πŸ€˜πŸŽΈπŸ‘©β€πŸŽ€

I realise it's nearly June, but I missed sharing April's box from the space club and this one is so magical I couldn't leave it off the grid! πŸ’œπŸ’–πŸŒƒπŸ’«πŸ”

The theme from April was the Horsehead Nebula! An absolute space icon! The main tool was a glorious glittery yarn carrier and there was a pair of nebula themed stitch markers too.

I always get such lovely feedback about my yarn carriers! 🫢🏼πŸ₯° Customers have told me they love how well they fit together, how nicely they spin and how comfortable the adjustable wrist straps are too! I have new designs I'll be popping on my website soon so keep an eye out for those! πŸ˜πŸ’–

The extras in April had a stationary theme with a custom cover grid dot notebook, a galaxy pen and some Saturn paper clips- perfect for organising your project notes on the go! πŸ“πŸ–‡οΈ

I hope you loved seeing the April box! May's box will be revealed soon!

βœ¨βš”οΈ dark side collection update βš”οΈβœ¨

Hello friends! Just keeping you updated on the Dark Side collection progress. Everything has been laser cut, hand painted, peeled off masking and cleaned up β˜‘οΈβ˜‘οΈβ˜‘οΈ yay!
Yarn cutters are getting assembled today and the whole lot should be ready to package and ship out tomorrow!!

I can't wait to send these goodies off to you so you can join me, and complete your training (insert Vader breathing here) πŸ˜‚

Funny story, I picked up my 8yo from school the other day and the imperial March music was earworming me, so I started singing it out loud... Little miss joins in the singing (badly, bc she obvs doesn't know it that well πŸ˜‚) we did that for 10 mins on the drive home and when we finished, she turns to me and says "that's from Harry Potter, right?" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚β˜ οΈβ˜ οΈ
So glad she's not that well versed in HP but we definitely need to work on her SW literacy!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Well I'm finally back on the Tube! πŸ“½οΈπŸ’– I honestly thought it had only been a few months since my last podcast episode but I had to check something on my channel when I saw that is actually been 12 months! πŸ˜±πŸ™ˆ

It was so lovely sitting down to record again, even though I've pretty much forgotten how I even do this!! πŸ˜‚
I'm sharing a couple of FOs, a few new WIPS, plus a whole big pretty pile of yarn, most of it was from my Japan trip so it's all pretty special πŸ₯°
