I'm finally coming back to markets after 3 months away, I did not intend on this big break but I just haven't had the time to make the stock to fill a table.
Now its crunch time for the Christmas season I'm trying my hardest to make when I can.
These are some of the goodies I've been able to make over the past months ✨️

♻️ Recycling clay is a never ending job in the studio ♻️

But there are so many perks that makes it is all worth it!
✨️ "free clay" clay can be used over and over again untill it is fired so long as it does not get contaminated with foreign objects.
✨️ It gives students free reign to create untill they fail which can teach us so much about the structure of the clay and its limits
✨️ There is no pressure to keep everything they make when they may not fully love it.
✨️ It teaches us to be okay with failure, even though it does suck at first, we can always start again.

Every class I teach will end up with a pile of clay similar to this, and it'll go back into the clay that gets used for the next class. An endless cycle ♻️

While I'm trying to build up some new stock so I can return to markets soon its got me thinking about all the different colours people have called this glaze over the years.
I've always called it turquoise because that is what the glaze recipe is called.
What would you call it?

Finally getting some new cups out of the kiln. It's hard to believe that it is September already and Christmas is just around the corner 😏
I'll be making a return back to markets in October so I've only got a little longer to start making loaaads of work 👌
