The new facility features:
- 18 covered bays equipped with industry-leading
Trackman technology & LED lighting
- 3 dedicated practice nets
- A large artificial turf putting green
- A kiosk with generous covered seating area
- Accessible amenities.

EJE is immensely proud to celebrate Director Glen Spicer on an extraordinary milestone: 30 years of unwavering dedication, loyalty and service to EJE.

Glen joined EJE in 1996, returning home to Newcastle after practicing in the UK. He brought with him not only talent and experience, but a passion for architecture and community that would help shape the spirit of our practice for decades to come.

Across the architecture, development and construction communities throughout the Hunter and beyond, Glen is held in the highest regard. His deep commitment to design excellence, the quality of the built form and the public amenity of our region has made a powerful and lasting impact. His passion is evident not only through his contribution as a Chair of the AIA Hunter Division, a member of Urban Design Review Panel and the Property Council Hunter Chapter board, but also through the extensive and enduring body of work he has helped shape with EJE, with projects including:

- Registered Architect: Registered architect with a minimum of 2- 5 years Australian building project experience

- Graduates of Architecture: 5th year Architectural University graduate with a minimum of 2- 5 years Australian building project experience

- Architectural Technicians: TAFE graduate with a minimum of 2 - 5 years’ experience

- Strong conceptual design, detailed construction documentation and presentation skills.

- Well-developed detailing and project co-ordination skills.

- Project management abilities.

- Proven ability to lead volume and diverse projects from concept to delivery.

Here at EJE we congratulate and celebrate Director Barney Collins on his 45 years of service.

Barney joined EJE in 1981, became an Associate in 1983 & a Director of EJE Group in 1987. His varied experience in all fields of Architecture, Heritage Conservation, Urban Design & Master Planning have allowed him the opportunity to work across many projects with the EJE team.

Barney’s work with the EJE team includes, but is not limited to:
- the adaptive reuse of the former Newcastle City Administration Centre into the Crystalbrook Kingsley
- heritage interpretive strategies for Nobby’s Head
- collaborative design of the Newcastle Memorial Walk with the EJE team and Terras Landscape Architects
- the design and development of Scratchleys on the Wharf and Battlesticks
- designing the WesTrac Tomago service centre and training institute
- preparation for Conservation Management plan of the Carrington Hydraulic Engine House and Crane Bases
- the current restoration and development of the Christ Church Cathedral

Barney’s wisdom, discernment, and leadership has not only shaped the culture within EJE, but also significantly shaped the architectural landscape within Newcastle. His continual support to everyone at EJE is part of what makes it a thriving and vibrant workplace.

EJE Announces Courtney White’s Appointment as Associate

As EJE continues to evolve and strengthen its leadership team, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Courtney White as Associate. Courtney’s career progression reflects the talent, dedication, and professional excellence that underpin our practice.

Courtney joined EJE in 2015 after completing her Bachelor of Design (Architecture), later achieving her Master of Architecture in 2019 and becoming a Registered Architect in 2022. Over the past 11 years, Courtney has demonstrated a strong commitment to clients, projects, and colleagues, consistently delivering exceptional outcomes through effective communication, design resolution, and attention to detail.

Courtney has successfully delivered projects across the residential, aged care, commercial, retail, hospitality, and recreation sectors, including the BlueWave Aged Care Facility, Max McMahon Sporting Facility, Tomaree Sports Complex, Go Kindy Hunter Street, and 237 Wharf Road Residential Apartment Development.

EJE is proud to announces Stephen Batey’s appointment as Associate (Heritage).

As EJE continues to evolve and strengthen its leadership team, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Batey as Associate (Heritage). Stephen’s career progression reflects the talent, dedication, and professional excellence that underpin our practice.

Stephen commenced with EJE at the start of 2010 after studying and working in Sydney. Stephen enjoys the challenge of approaching complex architectural problems with a view to rationalising them into simple effective solutions, able to satisfy both client requirements and budgetary restrictions. He also has a passion to raise awareness of the treasury of Modern Architecture surrounding us before many more iconic buildings are lost.

Stephen has worked on numerous heritage projects here at EJE including the Mungo Scott Flour Mill, Wickham School of Arts, Former Castlemaine (Wood Street) Brewery, Walka Water Works, University of New England Robb College and Trevenna, the former Lambton Baby Health Centre, and Carrington Hydraulic Engine House.

This promotion is a reflection of Stephen’s ability to lead within the team, his dedication to his projects and the consistency of his work. Congratulations Stephen.
