Welcome!
Entries are one of the most important rooms of the home, but they're often overlooked for practicality. Here are some of my favourite design elements to include.
1. Regardless of size, this space is the first impression when someone visits. Include an artwork or something special here to set the tone.
2. Mirrors are a beautiful addition but also useful. They can make the space feel larger, reflect light and provide a space to quickly check your makeup on the way out!
3. If the space allows, include a console to display flowers or beautiful objects. Let's face it though- it's more likely a place to drop keys and mail (so maybe a box, a tray or a bowl is a great addition too!).
4. Consider lighting. A pendant light if there's room, or a table lamp. These pieces can be decorative- think of them more as ambient than task lighting sources, and have some fun with the design.
5. Flooring in the entry will endure more than other areas of the home. A rug can help protect the floor but also add a layer of texture, colour or a nod to the interior design style you're hoping to achieve (this is a beauty from )
