Custom Corks Bespoke pinboards, walls and mats made from sparkling, champagne and wine corks. Handmade in Geelong, Victoria.

I have been making cork mats and coasters for many years using wine corks, but the advent of the Stelvin screw cap has meant these corks are no longer available. But there are a lot of champagne corks and, after careful cutting and polishing, these present a wonderful basis for the boards and wall panels you see here. I have been selling at various markets and it is clear that the general public w

ant to see corks recycled. “We used to give them to the elephants” is the most frequent comment, “but they’re not collecting anymore.” To quote from the website of Planet Ark: “We no longer know of any organisation that accepts cork for recycling in Australia. ….. This has left a big gap for cork recycling in Australia. But, clearly, people do not want to throw them out. Cleaned up, cut and polished they are tactile, attractive and most importantly, functional. Almost everyone has a few at home and at every market we are presented with a bag or two of corks. I found myself with so many champagne corks I had to find a way to use them in larger numbers. The large boards can be made up to 900ml x 600ml and the modular panel system is, of course, unlimited. Borders of branded or unbranded corks can be added to the modular panels.

Wall panels. The panels can be fixed to a wall using Blutac or other permanent fixing adhesive. Each panel has an effective coverage of approximately 24.5cm X 21.5cm. The large wall board shown measures 1.13m high and 1.31 metres wide and consists of 25 panels plus borders. Think this would work well in your space? Get in touch.
