As I previously said I haven't been doing much craft lately but over Christmas (my goodness, we are now into the 4th month of the new year) I wanted some special Christmas cards for some special people. What to do? Firstly I made some boxes large enough to fit a block of chocolate, haven't decorated them. I have given the Christmas ones away but I made some extras for later, not in a Christmas design. Next I made some Christmas cards with a bit of a surprise in them, I made a small box inside the card and filled it with chocolates. My final creation was an easel style calendar for the new year. I hope you like them.

I haven't started any papercraft yet but I thought you might be interested in something I did several years' ago now. I had been on several overseas holiday and gone mad taking photos, ending up with doubles of a lot of gorgeous scenery, gardens and all those beautiful things. Now, there's only so much scrapbooking you can do so what do you do with what you have left? I decided to make up some correspondence cards, cutting card stock to various sizes to suit the photo, put a white insert into it, and then put the photo on the front. I put them all into a box which held about 100 (yes, I did that many) and I am still using them. I am running low so I might just have to have a look at my photos and see if I can make up some more. What do you do with the photos you are not using in your scrapbooks?

Hello there, I haven't been active with my page for quite some time now due for the most part in caring for a sick husband. However, unfortunately my husband passed away about a month ago and I am now finding I have (some) time on my hands. Perhaps I will be able to get back into my craft work, though after looking at my craft room it needs some work and cleaning out - maybe that will have to come first. Anyway - it's encouraging to see people have been finding and liking my page and I thank you for that. Please keep watching and hopefully I'll be able to do something about it very soon.

What do you do when you have made a mess of your journal? I wrote a few things on the 2nd page of my journal and I was not at all happy with what I had done - so I got out my dies and my cardstock and made a piece to cover the offending writing. I also got out my chalks and roughly coloured the card to a complimentary colour. I think it covers the section I don't like and now all I have to do is write something I am happy with. What are your thoughts?

I'm still working on my doggie box but it seems I haven't got journals out of my system yet. I have another set of pages from Heartfelt creations that just wouldn't let me leave them in my cupboard, so ... here we go again. Here's the first picture. Hope you like it too.

Next on the list of 'things to do' is a variation on a theme, one I've done here before, but with a different subject. This one, as already mentioned, should be of interest to Penny McLean - yes, Penny, I've found a dog mug! It's not exactly Fergus, but hey ... Now I have to work out an appropriate card to go with. Anyway, here are some photos of what I have so far. Keep watching this space as I add to what is already in the box. Irene

I have finished my journal, it is now ready for use and as I find things I'd like to include and/or remember I now have somewhere to put them. Thank you for coming on this journey with me. My next project should be of interest to you, Penny McLean.

I love working on this journal, and it is progressing nicely. I've secured the paper to my cardstock, got rid of all those sticky bits on the edges by rubbing cornflour over over it and started putting in some of the embellishments I want to include. I won't do it all at one sitting, because I think you need to give it a bit of thought and some ideas will come over time. When, and if, I can find the book of quotes I was collecting, I'll include some of those as well, and while I can still make it legible, I'll do it in my own handwriting as I think it is important to include some of yourself in something like this. I hope you are enjoying it so far.

Yes, I've started my journal. I found a lovely pack of paper from Heartfelt Creations and am making that the base for my booklet. There are 42 pages and I am using them all. I cut the cardstock to support the papers and started to tape the papers to the base. Once that has been finished c omes the fun part, when I decide how to decorate it. Here are some photos to give you an idea of how it will look. The size is 17.5cm x 21.25cm (or 7" x 8 3/8" in the old measuring system). Let me know what you think of it so far, and also some of the things you would put in it.

What am I going to do for my next project? This time I think it is going to be, for me, a bit more of an ambitious undertaking. Just recently a couple of friends have shared with me some special journals, one made by her daughter for her, and which she can add to herself, and the other made by my friend for herself. Also another friend showed me her book of inspirational quotes which she was giving away to someone who needed some cheering up. I'll go through my stash and see what I can come up with - stay tuned!

I thi'nk this qualifies as 'papercraft', and I think it is a great idea. I have lots of empty jars around home and this is a good project for one of them. Let's see if I can start it, and, better yet, finish it. Who's going to join me?

The Blessings Jar :-)
Remember and be thankful for all the good times.
