I wanted to challenge myself and use different colours, rather than the traditional to complete this watercolour painting of 2 x Elephants, Mother and Baby. There was a few interruptions as I ran out of some of the colours, so had to reorder them. 😆 You can't tell, however the background has a sparkle to it. They are a product from Jane Davenport called HUEelementals with metal qualities. They are very cool. 🥰

This watercolour painting is of 2 x Elephants, Mother and her baby calf. I bought this book of Elephants many years ago and just love the pictures in it. I chose this image to try and recreate. I used Inks to create the abstract background, which gives it a lot of atmosphere. I used watercolour paints to create the foreground. I love Elephants. They are so special and unique. ❤️

I completed this drawing of 2 x Rainbow Bee-eaters a few days ago and then used watercolour pencils to give the birds some colour. Australia has only one bee-eater. It has a golden yellow head and aquamarine body, which complement each other perfectly. 🥰

Over the past few months, I have working intermittently on this SunnyBoy painting. Last year some time, I was commissioned to do some drawings for a much loved and cherished pet cocktail, who passed away 22 years ago. I finally finished the owl painting over the weekend. 🤗🌟This painting is called "True Blue". I love the vivid cobalt blue colour of the owl. It contrasts beautifully with the earthy colours in the background. Paper was applied to the canvas, which gives it a really interesting texture. 🥰

It's been about 15 or so years since I last painted with acrylic, so these past few paintings, have certainly had their challenges. I am feeling very rusty. 🙃
