Our client wanted these beautiful Soft Gathered Romans as the main feature running across the back of her newly renovated home.

The issue we had was aspect. This side of the house gets full morning sun which not only heats up these rooms but over time would damage the fabric.

We hid Blockout Cellular blinds behind each Roman to give her the practicality of heat reduction & room darkening whilst maintaining the beautiful softness that comes with these stunning gathered Romans 🥰

We opt to pair blockout/ room darkening products with our sheer Roman Blinds in order to preserve the softness of the gathered Roman.

Clients often want the soft gathered look but require blockout and room darkening properties. Unfortunately as soon as you add Lining to a gathered Roman it ceases to be a soft gathered Roman.

Options are to add a translucent lining to make your romans private both day and night but without darkening a room, great for bathrooms and windows without a view.

Choose a different style of Soft Roman such as a panel seamed or unseamed which is a more structured look that can accomodate a blockout or room darkening liner. These are best for bedrooms or to reduce glare on screens.

Or as we have done, keep the soft gathered Romans as the sheer light filtering fabric then hide a Blockout Cellular Blind behind which can be used to reduce heat and light into a room.
