A beautifully styled home should feel lived in… not just looked at ✨

We don’t believe in stripping everything back to a white, minimal “designer” version of a home. It might photograph well, but to us, if it doesn’t feel relatable, it doesn’t connect with buyers.

Our approach is all about layering warmth, personality and detail... pieces that tell a story.

When buyers walk through, we want them to feel like someone already lives here… and more importantly, that the someone could be them.

We're in the beginning stages of a fun new project 👀✨

A two-bedroom apartment in Bondi is getting a little facelift, and it already feels like one of those projects where everything just clicks.

Even more special… this is a returning client we’ve worked with before, having completed multiple projects for their family. There’s nothing better than being trusted again, this time to help bring her daughter’s home to life 🤍

The brief is a beautiful balance of mid-century modern style, but with a lighter feel overall to suit the small apartment space. We're planning softer finishes to create a bigger feel, and looking to incorporate those deeper, richer tones through the furniture selections later on.

It’s all about contrast done well 🙌

We’re still refining the concept (and nothing is locked in just yet), but these early sample boards are setting the tone for what’s to come… and we can already see it taking shape. Stay tuned.

It’s all starting to come together now 😍

After refining the palette, we’ve been layering in those richer tones across this French Provincial-inspired home… from the navy blue kitchen to the more detailed moments throughout.

We’ve introduced beautiful wall detailing including wainscoting and carefully selected wallpapers, giving each space its own sense of character while still feeling cohesive as a whole.

We’re on track to have everything wrapped up by the end of May, which means we’ll soon be moving into one of our favourite phases… furniture selections 🛋️

This is where the warmth, texture and personality really come to life, and the home starts to feel lived in, not just designed.

Not long now. Stay tuned 🤍

Not all retirement units need to feel the same… and this one is proof 🙌

For this project with our client, we leaned into a slightly more masculine direction while still keeping that warmth and comfort our clients love. We incorporated rich walnut timbers, layered wicker and rattan elements, used a soft grey fabric for the sofa, and brought in deep navy bedsides to anchor the bedroom.

We’ve used many of these pieces before, so we already knew they’d be practical, comfortable, and well-suited to everyday living… but it’s how they’re combined that changes everything. Same materials, completely different mood.

But this project felt extra special.

Our client, the former mayor of Townsville, shared stories that connected all the way back to my family… one of those unexpected, full-circle moments you couldn’t plan if you tried. The kind that reminds you this work is about so much more than furniture 🛋️

Not every piece needs to be replaced ✨

Our client recently sold her large family home and moved into a smaller unit closer to the city. While the footprint changed, the memories didn’t. She was determined to bring a few treasured pieces with her, including this pair of antique armchairs.

The fabric, however, told a different story. A bold yellow and red floral that once suited a larger, traditional home felt out of place in this new Art Deco-inspired building.

So rather than letting them go, we arranged to have them professionally reupholstered with

The transformation is subtle but powerful. A soft cream, durable fabric now allows the beautiful dark timber frame to shine. The chairs feel lighter, calmer and perfectly suited to their new surroundings while still holding all their history.

Downsizing doesn't mean starting over. We just need to refine the things that matter most ❤️

If you’re moving into a smaller home and want to bring your favourite pieces with you, we can help you make them work beautifully in your next chapter.

There’s something special about styling a home just one block from the waterfront 🌊

This renovated cottage was completely vacant when we arrived, except for one bold emerald green sofa. Rather than working against it, we leaned in and created a fresh, funky coastal vibe.

Hearing that the owner felt the home was transformed into something warm and homely is exactly why we do what we do.

Downsizing from a large traditional home in Brisbane’s western suburbs, our lovely clients are preparing to move into the long-awaited Monarch Towers, perfectly positioned along the river reach of Toowong.

This quiet little space sits between the kitchen and balcony, so it was important to create an area that felt relaxed and open ✨

In downsizing projects, these in-between areas are so important. They’re often overlooked, but they become the everyday spaces: the morning coffee spot, the afternoon reading chair, the place to pause before stepping outside.

For this project, we made sure the secondary living area felt connected to the richness of the main room, without overpowering it.

We softened the palette, allowed the beautiful antiques to breathe, and carefully considered proportions so nothing felt crowded.

If you’re transitioning into a smaller home and want every corner to feel considered, we’d love to help.

At Design Vision, every project begins with listening.

We take into account how you live, what you love, what you’re bringing with you, and what no longer serves you.

Some homes need a complete transformation, while others simply need clarity, proportion and better flow.

Our approach is never trend-driven or one-size-fits-all - it’s tailored to the individual. Whether that means incorporating treasured antiques, refining a floor plan, sourcing new furniture, or reworking a room so it finally feels balanced.

When those elements come together, a home doesn’t just look beautiful. It feels right.

We've added personality into each room, including the perfect navy for the kitchen walls, and a gorgeous deep emerald green tile to go with a monkey print wallpaper in the powder room.
