In a room beautifully lit by the soft morning light, I had a warm and heartfelt connection through Chado, Japanese Tea Ceremony with everyone who gathered on Saturday morning.
Once again, I was deeply reminded of how the spirit of Chado transcends borders and resonates with people from many different backgrounds.
My sincere thanks go to Kayla-san from for creating such a wonderful opportunity. The Town of Walkerville also hosts a variety of other workshops including knitting and Indonesian batik dyeing, among many others. Their website is definitely worth checking out!
美しい朝の光に満ちた部屋で
土曜日の朝に集まってくださった方々と共に
お茶を通して暖かな心の交流をさせていただきました。
国境を越えて様々な人たちに伝わる
「お茶の心」の素晴らしさを改めて痛感しました。
素晴らしい機会を与えてくださったTown of Walkervilleに
改めて感謝をお伝えいたします。
このカウンシルではこのほかにも
編み物やインドネシアのバティック染めなど
興味深い様々なワークショップを企画しています。
ますます多文化国家が広がるオーストラリアで
お互いを尊重しながら
故郷を大切に
文化や心を次の世代に繋げていく試みに携わることができて
とても嬉しく思います。

Finally I got to watch the movie ‘Kokuho’. I have read the original novels beforehand. I’m so glad that the ending of the movie was about soul liberation of Kikuo, the main character as the end of the original, in my opinion, implies his tragic fatal destiny.
ついに、やっと観てきました「国宝」！
原作を先に読んだので
あの大作が3時間にどうやって収められたのか
興味津々で観ましたが
素晴らしかったです✨
恩返し
仇討ち
浄化
この三つのテーマを受け取りました。
語弊を恐れずに言えば
この映画は
歌舞伎という姿を借りた喜久雄の任侠映画だったのでは。
破滅的、悲劇を思わせるような原作の最後と違って
喜久雄の魂が解放されたような結末で
本当に良かった。
監督、脚本、カメラワーク、俳優の皆さんはじめ
本当に全てが細部に渡って素晴らしかったです。
もう一度原作を読み直して
映画を観たいです。

Found this cool cafe near Fujisawa station.
The owner Arase san opened this cafe in 2024 after visiting Adelaide (!) and getting inspired the coffee culture there in 2023. He said he wanted to create a welcoming space for the community through coffee and arts he loves.
Food was delicious and coffee was tasty. And music was excellent!
藤沢駅の近くにこんな素敵なカフェを見つけました！
オーナーの荒瀬さんが
コーヒーとアートを通して、
いろんな世代の人たちが
集まることができる場所を作りたいという思いで
去年オープンされたそうです。
素材にこだわったご飯と
おいしいコーヒー。
そしてレコードから流れる音楽。
店内は気持ちのよい日差しに包まれていて
オーストラリアの植物
カンガルーポー、バンクシア、プロテアに
ユーカリも発見。
お花屋さんもされているそうです。
そして、なんと荒瀬さん。
奥様のお友達がアデレード在住ということで
2年前にいらしたそう。
なんという偶然✨
こういう出会いはうれしいですね。

I visited Enoshima Shrine which is located in Enoshima Island. The location is similar to Mont Saint-Michel in France where used to be reachable only when it was low tide. (There is a bridge now so it’s accessible all the time to both places.)
This shrine was founded by the 3rd Sh**un of Kamakura era, Minamoto Sanetomo in 1206. This Sh**un was recommended to have green tea to cure hangover by a Zen monk Eisai who brought back seeds of green tea from China. He gave some of the seeds to his fellow monk Myōe in Kyoto. It is the origin of Uji green tea that is still famous for its excellent quality of green tea and Matcha.
From this island, I could see Mt. Fuji and was speechless for its beauty. It’s just divine. And so is the scenery. I was so lucky to be there.
江ノ島弁財天神社に参詣しました。
江ノ島弁財天仲見世通りは
古き良き観光地の趣き。
寄り道したい気持ちを抑えて、先を急ぎました。
なんせ３つの弁財天が祀られている
辺津宮、中津宮、奥津宮を回るには
2、3時間かかるとネットで見たような気がしたからです。
そして、できれば
弁財天信仰発祥の地の岩屋にも行きたい。
日暮れまで2時間余り。
先を急ぐしかありません。
結果。
岩屋まで行くこともでき
澄み切った空に
浮世絵のような景色を堪能し
しかも夕暮れの富士山を
江ノ島ビールとシラス丼で拝むことができました。
しかも茅ヶ崎のシンボル烏帽子岩までくっきり。
幸多き参詣となりました。

Exploring Yamaga city that is famous for its superb quality of Onsen and Chiyo no Sono sake brewery that was founded almost 130 years ago. The city and local community have been striving to preserve the old buildings, scenery and culture that tell hundreds of years of its history.
I bumped into my ex-colleague Kei-san. She has been actively sending out the information about the beauty of Japanese culture and lifestyle.

素敵な街並みが残っています。
今回は千代の園酒造さんの資料館などに

We happily wrapped up our ‘Kintsugi x Chado’ workshops in 2025🥰 Thank you for joining us to share the enjoyable time together. We received warm lovely feedback from everyone and that made us really happy.
Our collaborative workshop is a full day workshop to introduce Japanese traditional craft and culture. Time goes quickly as in our workshop you find yourself immersing in each process of Kintsugi and peaceful time through Chado (Japanese Tea Ceremony).
Meeting the participants (some are returning participants☺️💓), spending the time together and sharing our life together means a lot to us, Yoko and Eriko. We thank for the moment on that day and that moment will stay in our heart forever🙏
Thank you very much for Gerard san at Gallery Le Nuancier and for hosting us at your beautiful and historic building.
We will organise next workshop in July 2026! We are looking forward to seeing you there!
